23weeks >22weeks> 21week> 20 weeks.
this is my transformation from 20-23 weeks, i’m starting to feel huge and still got around 17 weeks left of bulking 🤪
i feel like i’m growing faster than ever (but i promise i’m not just eating maccas and kfc every day 😅) i am also the unfittest i’ve ever been, so it will be interesting to see how i go after this pregnancy.
but for now, let’s enjoy getting big while i have an excuse 🙊🤰
and talking about weight gain, i’ve put up a new blog post about how i’ve felt about it. check it out on www.maria-gala.com 😬❤️
I am excited to introduce myself to my followers who do not know me personally. hello and welcome! 👋🏻 my name is juliet and i am 30 years old. i am a mother, writer, and designer. my daughter milan is 1 1/2 👶🏽. she is a world changer! i had a natural water birth and it has led me into a lifestyle that i never would have imagined. i created this page to spread awareness. i get to share all that i have learned and everything that i continue to learn. i will be posting some fun vegan recipes 🌱 while sharing all of the products i use on myself and milan. the community i am creating is for free thinkers. 💭 those who like to think outside of the box and challenge the norm. those who are committed to growth and are open to being uncomfortable. i encourage everyone to be on a continuous journey of learning and asking questions. i love you all and i appreciate you sharing life with me! ❤️

I work in retail and i’m a huge germaphobe. those two things do not go together well at all. this little magic bottle has saved me many times dealing with the germies i encounter daily😷
on guard sanitizing spray is super convenient to take with you on the go and can be used anywhere to sanitize and k**l 99.9% of germs and bacteria we encounter. .
it contains a blend of wild orange, clove, cinnamon, eucalyptus, and rosemary essential oils that leaves an uplifting citrus spice aroma in addition to its protective benefits and will not dry out your skin. .
if you’re interested in trying it out send me a message. . #doterra#essentialoils#essentialoilsisters#essential#oil#sisters#no#more#germs#clean#onguard#sanitizing#germaphobe #😷
they say once you have kids, time really flies. one second you are bringing your baby home from the hospital and the next he is rolling back and forth. before you know it he is crawling, sitting up and pulling up in the crib. we highly recommend to keep the following in mind as soon as you have a baby and start taking actions to baby proof sooner rather than later. there are more ways to keep your home baby proof but these are the ones we think are most important to start with. ⠀
* when baby gets up on all four, remove mobiles or hanging toys from crib.⠀
* when baby sits lower the crib one level, when baby pulls up, lower to lowest position.⠀
* use safety gates for unsafe areas.⠀
* install safety gates at top and bottom of stairs.⠀
* keep knives, breakables, heavy pots, and other dangerous items locked or out of reach.⠀
* secure oven door with an appliance latch. secure oven to the wall if it is a standing oven. ⠀
* turn p*t handles toward back of stove, use back burners only when possible ⠀
* use outlet covers over unused outlets.⠀
* use doorstops and door holders to protect babies' fingers.⠀
* hide electrical cords or use a hide-a-cord device.⠀
* keep b**w dryers, toasters, and other appliances unplugged and out of reach.⠀
* don’t use tablecloths, babies can pull on them and anything onto will fall down ⠀
* mount furniture that can fall over to the wall, like bookcase or night stand ⠀
* install a toilet-seat lock
Folate is naturally occurring and folic acid is the synthetic form of folate. they are not the same. folate is what is found in leafy greens, chickpeas, etc. folic acid is the synthetic form that is added to foods and vitamins. it is harder for the body to metabolize folic acid and it can build up in the body. the best way to get enough folate is through diet. if supplementing (which is recommended,) it is best to look for supplements with the natural occurring folate so that the body can use it. look for “metafolin” or “deplin.” those are the brand names that folate commonly is sold under. if you need any good vitamin recommendations, let me know! 😊
So, a quick note on my motivation for starting sciencefed, and perhaps offer some words of encouragement to all the mama’s, dads, and those who support us in this incredible journey called life.
when i first started breastfeeding, i did it with relatively little knowledge of the extent of health benefits conferred by human milk. i also had a very shallow appreciation of how much time, energy, and patience would be required in the new game of parenting.
at some point around six months, i started looking into peer reviewed journals regarding the benefits of breastfeeding (by trade, and in previous life, i was a researching scientist). the extent of literature highlighting the benefits of human milk versus formula is both fascinating- and shocking.
the longer i thought about the issue of breastfeeding (and the relative lack of support women get while they’re doing it) the faster my enthusiasm for research turned into frustration: given the extent of benefits of b****t milk, why aren’t we helping women breastfeed for longer? why shouldn’t we try and establish support so women can breastfeed for (at minimum) three-six months?
basic science has the real illustrative muscle as far as showing the benefits of breastfeeding: in every biological field, from cognitive neuroscience to infectious disease (such as h*v prevention), we are beginning to learn more about mother’s miraculous milk. yet we still treat breastfeeding as though it is a mildly superior alternative to formula. it’s not. especially for the first 3 months of life.
much of the information in the breastfeeding advocacy space focuses on the psychological and nurturing aspects of breastfeeding. these are hugely valid considerations, however, my aim is to provide another perspective by highlighting the wealth of evidence-based science that demonstrates the biological benefits of breastfeeding.
breastfeeding, like parenthood, is both a journey and investment that requires support from family, friends, work environments, and society! it is well worth the time, love, sweat, tears (all a part of the proverbial journey too). big hugs and thank you for your interest! 💕 margs xx
Quinoa, ricotta cheese and berries- you need to try this recipe! little taste tester (ashton) absolutely loves it. so simple to prepare and packed with all the good stuff! first make your quinoa, add fresh or frozen berries, then ricotta cheese, blend, and ready for baby! #babyfood@chewbeads
