From a troubled teenager threatening my parents to drop out of school (but they clearly knew who were the parents), to the rebellious senior in high school saying i am not going to college ever (to spite my parents whenever i was angry), to the broken freshman saying that i hate college and will only go as far as my associates, to the junior who was willing to stop at an advanced diploma, to the driven senior who’ve now conquered her bachelors in international trade and commerce! i owe it all to the most high, god, my father, who pulled me through! he has breathed a breath of strength in me for each time i fell weak, he’s granted me hope in times when i felt hopeless, and faith when i’ve been broken and the list goes on! being the first of my grandmother’s offsprings to graduate college(2015), i’ve succeeded in business with closing my chapter in business administration as an entrepreneur at the age of 22! had anyone asked me where i’ve seen myself at this point, my response probably was “23? hmm probably somewhere turning up in foreign🤷🏽♀️”, but god had other plans! thank god no man finalizes where we end up in life and the choice is up to us! as i close this chapter, i am excited to see what the future holds as i journey off into grad school, fulfilling my late great-grandmother’s prayers and dreams, to attain a masters in theological studies! no matter how rough life got for me she and my mother, along with many other supporters, never stopped believing in me and praying for me! i do not know where i would be in life if it wasn’t for their prayers! thank god for bringing me this far! thanks to all of you who had faith in me, and a heartwarming thanks to those that didn’t! i am truly humbled and will continue to prove the doubters wrong! #2018graduate#ba#honours 🎉🎓
I had my third presentation today, it wasn’t bad, it was on circadian rhythm and myocardial infarct (mi) -the sleep/wake cycle actually has implications in heart disease risks, interesting right? my paper was looking at trying to associate circadian genes with mi risk, turns out there are two gene variants that are involved in mi! i think in the future they may be able to use these two genes as markers in the blood for possible diagnostic purposes but i’m really not sure, this was more of a pilot study in trying to find the causes between circadian rhythm and their involvement with mi. interesting stuff tho and i didn’t totally f**k up like last time so it was a success in my books! i’m now just worried about my grades, i really hope i’m doing what i’m meant to be doing to get first class! my proposal is due on friday and i really just want to get it done, then i have an essay due monday and after that i’ll be able to take a few days off and finally be able to breathe for a second😀 #honoursisfun#honours#honourstudent#sciencestudent#postgradlife#futurescientist#futurecardiologist#cardiacresearch#medicine#clinicalresearch#scientistlife#scientistinthemaking#scicomm#stemwomen#stem#vegan#veganscientist

The king of business analysis 3!i’ve learnt 4 things:
1) no corporate will ever pay you what you actually want to get paid. you will have to go and get it yourself
2) i see no statistically significant correlation between success and spending hours in traffic or being chronically sleep-deprived
3) a corporate’s idea of a reward is to give you a minuscule 20 000 bonus when you have brought in a massive 2 million in revenue for the company
4) the only skill that really matters in business is sales. everything else is merely a best-supporting actor
i have no bosses and i do not report to any managers. i only have clients whom i render services to and i get paid the fees which i request. if i ever need some time off, i do not owe anyone any explanation nor do i need to ask for permission. sure, sometimes i do spend several hours in traffic and walk around sleep-deprived for a few days, but only when it’s absolutely necessary and i get compensated for it, and not as a daily requirement imposed on me by a corporate. #independentconsultant#seniorbusinessanalyst#systemsanalyst#agileanalysis#honours#mba
