As requested some training and flatwork video's!
this horse (7yo gelding, cream on top x jumbo jet) i'm teaching to stay quiet and collected in his body after the fence. and that all starts in the flatwork.
i find it very important to make a lot of transitions between gaits and tempo changes in the gaits. jumping a fence is a little bit like a transition or tempo change, the horse will go faster (take off, tempo change forward), make itself longer in the body (moment of suspension, tempo change forward), it will/can end up on the forehand (landing, tempo change or transition back) and after that we want the horse be in balance, with a collected body again. so if your transitions and tempo changes get better, it will get easier to get more control after the fence.
in these video's my horse isn't far from perfect yet. he's 7yo and i'm just riding him for 4 months now. so still much more to learn!
i know he's getting to deep in front, but for now i'm satisfied with this, because it's more important that he'll give i'm and stays relaxed in his upper line. also his body is build a little down hill, so this position is easier for him now.
in the first video i make transitions between walk and trot. second video some small tempo changes in trot, third video transition between trot and canter and the fourth video tempo changes in canter. you can see that the horse is losing his balance now and then, that's why i keep all the changes small. for now it's important he stays relaxed in his jaws and upper line and that he's quick finding his balance back. as a rider it's important to release your hands after a mount.
at jumping i make a lot of transitions to halt after the fence. it's important to keep it relaxed (you can use the fence or boarding around the ring if your horse really gets strong), keep the horse straight between two legs and reins, make your horse really standing still for a moment and be able to release the pressure on the reins, reward the horse and slowly let it walk again.
as you can see on the video's, my horse will stop easier every time and at the end he does the whole line easy, slow and in a better balance than the first time.
question are welcome!
Thank you so much for the 300+ followers!! you are all amazing 😘❤
before we did some st we had a bit of qaulity time and ruby had a lot of itching because her summer coat is coming! so she enjoyed the scratches !! 😄.
the st session was awesome! we started with the basics, stepping under, forward down. and then we went to the shoulder-in and traver! .
she did her best and she did a great job! i felt like she wanted to try something new, so i thought we could work on the piaffe. that didn't went good. because we are not ready yet, i started thinking where we could work on and i thought, well let's try the traver in trot!🙌
the first time didn't work, but the second time .... she did something with her hindlegs and i didn't know what. but it was amazing!! so i screamed and rewarded her and thanked her and gave her candy and screamed again ... 😅😂💜 i love her so much!😍
brahma was excessively sparing with earth, water, and fire.... the reckless expenditure of air and ether in his composition was amazing. and, in consequence, he perpetually struggled to outreach the wind, to outrun space itself. other animals ran only when they had a reason, but the horse would run for no reason whatever, as if to run out of his own skin. @rabindranathtagore

guten abend meine lieben😊
