I’ve really gotten into podcasts lately. music has always been a huge thing for me, i mean come on, i’ve got it tattooed all over my body but recently i’ve been finding it hard to listen to at times. one of my dystonia consultants told me that it’s a common part of being in chronic pain all the time as your brain can only cope with so much going on at one point so sometimes music can leave me feeling agitated and anxious. and don’t even get me started on music playing and me trying to listen to someone or trying to talk. i just can’t do it and tend to have a total meltdown. which unsurprisingly isn’t much fun. 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
so rather than listening to nothing except my whinging ungrateful pets complaining how much they hate their lives, i’ve gotten into podcasts.
so far i’m loving the @anniemacdj one, the @russellbrand one is truly incredible as i adore that man anyway and @tablemannerspodcast is really funny as @jessieware and her mum are bloody brilliant @fearnecotton is a good one too and i’ve just started listening to @mydadwrotea i’m only one episode in and already finding it really funny.
does anyone else listen to any and do you have any recommendations?? pissing down with rain again so ill have them all moaning at me today cos obviously the rain is all my fault 😩😩🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
Dr sira d**g and her ceo husband, william, understand the value of research. after a less than ideal experience constructing their first home with a private builder, the couple was meticulous in selecting a melbourne builder that would understand their needs and accommodate the pair along with sira’s mother and their adorable fur baby, leo.
after visiting several display homes in melbourne, they eventually found ‘the one’ at boutique’s montauk 49. “the moment we walked into boutique’s point cook display, it was love at first sight. we loved everything about it – from the external and interior design, home decor, furniture, and colour theme, to the façade and landscaping.”

Warm and cosy jumpers, pretty scarves and a lot of coffee are my perfect seasonal staples what are yours?
off out for a nice lunch for my boss’ 50th birthday today which means i get half a day off to eat yummy food and drink wine 🙌
I took this picture last week at st fagin’s national museum (beautiful open air museum in south wales). it was taken inside a very old church. it kind of reflects my mood today – a bit quiet and contemplative.
the christmas run up has started, and try as i might i can’t avoid getting swept up in it – in that frenzy of making sure that everybody’s wishes and expectations and traditions are upheld.
it’s not that i’m bah humbug – there are lots of things about christmas that i love. it’s the excess that never sits right with me, to the point where i get physically anxious. i’m doing my best this christmas to tone it down (without upsetting my nearest and dearest), and have a less excessive christmas season for ethical, environmental and social reasons.
i’ve been thinking about how doorzirable fits into all of this, and if i’m honest i hadn’t originally planned to promote my door numbers as christmas gifts.. so here’s where i’ve come to, and what i feel comfortable with:
1. i like receiving practical gifts that i actually need.
2. i like the idea of supporting small and local businesses.
3. i like the idea of buying hand crafted items that are made with love.
4. i like the idea of having choice.
i figure that doorzirable house number signs actually tick all those boxes! so to enhance point number 4 (because if anything, doorzirable is all about choice) i have decided to add gift certificates £25, and £35 to my etsy shop – so you can give the gift of choice to your colour loving, home loving loved one (gift certificates will be listed in my shop in the next few days)..
yes it is a quirky christmas gift, but it’s practical, supports a small business, is completely unique and most certainly not excessive. and now there is an option to let your recipient choose what they want at their front door (ridiculous amount of combinations – but you’ll know that if you follow me!).
what’s your thoughts on christmas? do you love the good vibes and kids excitement but hate the pressure to go overboard? are you making changes this christmas to reduce the excess? are you shopping small this christmas?
When i started this little side page i had no idea what i wanted to do with it. i thought maybe i would showcase my artistic talent as a part time part time designer and all the work i've done over the past 15 years. however everytime i posted about my accomplishments it didn't rattle my bones like i wanted it to.
i've loved every part of my designer journey. this gift has helped me make a lot of people happy which in turn makes me happy and i realized i get more joy out of crafting and creating joy and happiness thru my gift of design than i will ever get promoting myself and documenting what i've already done.
i really just want to share what my eyes see. the imperfect perfect parts of life thru design. i want these squares to tell a story when you view them. invoke a feeling inside, a spark of joy, a sigh of nostalgia, inspire creative ideas for your own home and life.
i want to explore and share the beautiful freedom that's found in imperfection thru my authentic home and self. what you can expect here is creative truth, design and style, magic thoughts, some how to's, space clearing talk, apothecary creations and maybe even some poetry😆😉 yes, i am still offering design services for holidays, small events and staging yet i am dedicating this page to showcasing design in my everyday life however it chooses to show up✌

cosy knit blankets are one of our #seasonalstaples that we add to our home during the autumn & winter seasons 🍂 ❄️ 🧶🏡.. the perfect accessory to add some warmth and cosyiness 🥰
but i’ll not be snuggling up in it for a while as i’m off to australia this morning for a work trip... so i’ll be swapping it for the sun for now. ☀️
what’s your seasonal staple?
Who else has kiddos with trophies?! i’ve been staring at vincent’s proud prized possessions for months, trying to figure how to display them. i’m not surprised i ended up with a simple solution— thanks to ikea picture ledges. i decided to paint them the same color as the wall and b**t them against the wood paneling to add some dimension to the corner of the room. also minimally maximizing space, if that makes sense! next small project is finding a place for his pile of medals. i’ll be sure to keep you posted!
p.s. can you guess the onlooker in the shadows? ✨

What do i do when i’m stressed... i make impulse buys 🤷🏻♀️ and i’m not one bit mad about these benches i bought while i was stress shopping about leo’s surgery. our little man goes in for his operation in the morning, and while it should be fast and simple my mama heart is obviously not excited. prayers for our little guy would be such a blessings, and here’s a cute photo of a crazy little girl drawing circles to distract you from what ever things are causing you stress right now 💕
Mp james has been in business a little over one year now, and i couldn’t be more grateful to the clients and relationships i have built in this short of time as well as my internal team 🥰
here’s to 100 more years and rolling into the 4th quarter with gratitude and creativity!
Went for a drive down the hill and along a few country roads to visit a fellow creative and gorgeous friend this morning. the highlight was of course seeing mel @claybeehive as we always have brilliant conversation about our creative endeavours, life and living in our rural settings and somehow we always manage to natter about about our mutual love of animals, all animals. it was great to connect with you gorgeous, thanks for having me at your creative hub and most of all, thankyou for my bundle of yumminess, beautiful ceramics for me to gift this christmas. see you again soon, happy creating lovely one. sarah x
It’s a chili day here in the atx. chili because we ate chili for dinner and it is very “chilly” ... correction freezing here this week. makes me want to sit by a warm fire and read/movie all day! i’ve even started thinking about my seasonal decor ... which i’m planning to be minimal, yet tasteful (i hope) ... have you started your holiday decor yet?
In case you were wondering what a diy project + baby looks like...here ya go! 🤣🧻 🧻 i made some really great progress today on the floors. check out stories to see how it went! tomorrow is day 2 which means some more paint and deciding on a stencil. i’m going to need your help on that decision. for now, night night 😴
Lots of meals to be shared here this holiday season. these sliding doors and tall windows allow for an abundance of natural light year round. they serve as their own piece of art, with a lush evergreen view.
I don’t know what the heck happened over the past couple days here in virginia, but winter decided to show up 😳 (and don’t y’all worry, my mom-topknot has a hat all to herself for the occasion 🤣), and i feel like we had 3.5 seconds of fall! .
i want to be all complainy, but i don’t let my kids do that, so i won’t either, and i will replace it with gratitude instead! .
things i love about winter: a warm house (i actually much prefer a warm cozy house to an air conditioned one!), spiced cider and the excuse to drink hot tea all day, and the fact that there are only 42 days until christmas! (yes we’ve started listening to christmas music already because my kids and i are completely on the same wavelength on this!)
ok, your turn to help me spread the gratitude in my head and make it louder than the complaining: what do you love about winter?!
Do you like a good diy? i showed an easy project in stories today. i’ve been wanting to change out my pendant lights to better coordinate with my gold fixtures but couldn’t find what i wanted so i decided to change the look of mine with rub n buff gold metallic wax. it was easy and now i have gold lights for under $10! if you can’t find what you want i say don’t wait and do it yourself so you can at least get the look until you do. what do you think of the change? ..
