I am fascinated by the night sky. i was born in singapore, where our city is always ensconced in a warm glow of light, where our skyscrapers tower above obscuring the stars and the people are often too busy to look up. and though there is a charm to the city lights, it’s not the same as the night sky in its glory.
and isn’t that the saddest thing? that some people should miss out on the wonder of our heavens, the stuff dreams are made of; freely available to all, even the poorest of the poor, no matter where you are on earth. all through history, the ancients have looked to the stars.
and what i love about this shot is that it’s not just me in my lone tent camping beneath the dark australian skies, but a #belltent city of people sleeping under a million stars 💫
I heard a skateboard running from behind me and i did not expect the kid to be as colorful as he is. luckily, the focus on the camera was just right and snapped this wonderfully.
ps. the autofocus on my lens is busted.
