Going with the flow of life.. or at least trying to! .

if you would have asked me a year ago where i thought i would be, my life would currently reflect a completely different story! it’s crazy how as much as i try and control my life, there’s always a higher power with an even bigger purpose for me always changing my direction. .

A little warmup action from this last weekend in san diego🌴 🌴🌴 s/o to our hometown partners @reppinchiathletics for the custom warmups last year. it was a little chilly in the morning before the sun came outin pool play. thank god it finally did, but thanks for keeping us prepared regardless ☀️ this weekend was one of my favorites ever - not because of the podium finish, the weather, or even the three full days i was there, but because of the new attitude i have regarding the sport. they say it’s more about the journey than the destination, and i am finally starting to live and understand that through spikeball.

Yesterday, after jumping ahead to dana we began our last segment on the jordan trail - dana to petra! it is lovely to have new landscapes and proper trails! after this we will be switching to day hikes giving us more time to explore petra and wadi rum. it will be nice to have the time needed to enjoy these wonderful sites more then if we continued with the thru-hike. who knows, we may even hop on over to egypt too! this is a prime example of “it’s about the journey, not the destination!” we couldn’t be happier with our choice and we continue to embrace that nothing goes to plan!

The golden larch is a deciduous conifer, which sounds like an oxymoron. the pine needles turn brilliant yellow for just a week or two prior to the tree dropping all of them in anticipation of winter. that’s pretty neat! 🤓

hfm struck our home back in may and i created an arsenal of natural healing tools incorporating essential oils and herbal support to help the then 3yo feel more comfortable and to get the rash/blisters to dry up as fast as possible. it definitely helped us move through the virus quickly. sharing hoping it'll help you too!

1. soothing moisturizer for the rash made with coconut oil, almond oil, calendula oil and eos (lavender, tea tree, frankincense) ⏩ it made her skin buttery soft!
2. epsom salt bath with lav, tea tree, lemon to detox and heal the rash
3. elderberry syrup with echinacea to kick up immunity
4. licorice tea to soothe the throat, added some astragalus tincture for more immune support
5. coconut water popsicles (not pictured) to soothe the throat and hydrate
6. disinfectant spray to eliminate the germy germs (vodka, vinegar, distilled water, lavender, lemon, eucalyptus, tea tree, purify blend)
7. sage, lavender, rosemary smudge stick to cleanse the air

Our last couple days in #california were spent recharging around the beautiful #shastalake area.
this journey around the country is partially for us to find a new community to call home for a bit. as amazing as this experience has been to live on the road, we have to plant some temporary roots to work towards our next goals.
we’ve narrowed it down to a few cities with couple left to still see. we’re spending the rest of the week exploring oregon to see if we should park it here for a bit or loop back towards colorado.

i took the picture on the right to share with the girls in my online bootcamp this month. they were all stepping outside of their comfort zones and sharing their before pictures so as their coach i needed to share mine too. maybe it was the day of the week or the mood i was in (or the fact that i know i haven't been the best about my nutrition 🙈) but i looked at that picture and for the first time in a while i caught myself picking it apart. i can't tell you what about it triggered those thoughts but i literally said to myself "you've been doing this for 9 months. why don't you look better than this?" not nice and totally something i would tell my girls to cut out immediately. so i shared my picture and then i dug deep into the vault to show myself how far i've come. .

i know i'm not the only one that feels that way sometimes. i know i'm not the only one that has given up because i wasn't getting to my desired outcome as quickly as i wanted. i know i'm not the only one that has let my mindset get in the way of my progress. keep pushing, babe. you're worth the effort and you deserve to see your journey through ♥️
