The beautiful a5 miyazaki wagyu from @ginzaonoderalondon 🥩😍
the wagyu selection here is just awesome - they have a number of different dishes featuring this seriously marbled beef and a few different cuts to choose from including the miyazaki and kobe-gyu. a nice gentle sear to caramelise the outside and a light coating of sea salt and black pepper. the steak is rested, sliced and served with a garlic and ginger sauce alongside fresh wasabi and himalayan salt. this thing just explodes with juices before melting in the mouth it’s ridiculously good. unbeatable flavour and texture. if you want the best wagyu, this is your joint. a very good japanese menu that features tapenyaki too! #notoriousfoodie 🙅🏽♂️
Little february never lasts longer than a moment. our meal for this petit month is a delicate morsel coveted from tiny train station eateries in the few spare minutes before a bullet train departs... katsu sando; japan’s vast improvement on the schnitzel burger.
this simple sandwich contains; a crisp, succulent, umami bomb of panko-crumbed tempura-style deep-fried ‘katsu’ (‘schnitzel’; generally pork or chicken), fluffy white enriched bread, optional finely shredded cabbage, kewpie mayo and piquant tonkatsu sauce.
thank you japan, this combination is incredible.
while they’re quite ubiquitous around japan, here in melbourne they’re not as easy to find. our mission in the remaining days of february is to track down every katsu sando in melbourne, for fun.
katsu: tender fillet with a coating that’s crispier (and tastier) than really fresh, dry rice bubbles. yeah you know what we’re talkin’ bout.
bread: light, fluffy, t****y :))) props if it’s enriched, milk bread is common in japan but less so over here!
cabbage: if present we’re hoping it does what it’s probably meant to and freshens things up without *intruding* on the experience.
kewpie mayo: look you can’t go wrong with kewpie itself it’s a ferkin delight just please have balance here.
tonkatsu: spicy, umami, tangy, yum. please spread enough of this on please please.
plating, size and price will also be considered as always.
we’ll be posting reviews throughout the next two weeks, keep your eyes peeled and let us know if you have any recommendations for places to visit! :) #monthofyum

I love how the art teacher at our elementary school introduces so many cool techniques and ideas. i especially love when i happen to be there as a parent volunteer! she told us about "gyotaku", an old japanese practice of making a print of fish that was caught in order to show people how large it was. the kids used rubbery fish, rolling brushes, and colored paper in contrasting colors to create a print of fish. so cool!! 🐟 i forgot to move my fish after covering them with the gold paint, so i got some of the extra paint on my paper. and for my second try, she let me use a sheet of rice paper. i love the details that transferred to the paper and will frame it to put in our craft room at home. #iloveart . #bestartteacher#gyotaku#japanese ##art#fishprint#fishpainting#paint#fish#plasticfish#artclass#latergram@verdantdragon

Read book- ikigai by hector garcia and francesc miralles .
a very satisfying read.
this books really explains how you can live a longer and happier life by having a purpose, eating healthy, and not retiring.
these are my 3 favorite lessons from his work:
😇having a purpose is a vital component of longevity and happiness. 😇if you want to live a long life, follow the advice of some of the oldest people in the world.
😇to stay healthy throughout your life, make sure that you are moving enough.
this book can be a reason to jump out of your bed.
this will helps you deep dive into discovering the meaning of your life. it is quite evident that the authors stress more on discovering the meaning of life rather than creating one for you!
do read this book!!
very good for working people.
I never really take the time to experiment in different styles which is something i aim to change this year. sometimes i feel stuck in one style and feel like i can’t branch out into different things because i won’t be happy with the result. i guess results should never get in the way of exploring something new and maybe even challenging for you. you should just do it and try to forget about the end result and focus on the lessons you are learning from new experience.
idk what one talking about. here’s something i did. took me too long to do but f**k it. i’m supposed to be doing this art thing for me and not anyone else. if it takes me a month and a half to do something like this then it was a fun month and a half
