🔥 explosive push ups: part 3🔥

hey guys, here’s the third (and most likely last) part of my explosive push ups series. today, we’ll be covering prereqs and professions for the superman push up.

✖️prerequisites/warm up for the back clap push ups
➡️ 12 push ups
➡️ 6 explosive push ups
➡️ 4 👏 push ups

now that we have that out of the way, we can move on to the next steps:

➡️ practice the hand raise motion
doesn’t take that much shoulder flexibility, but you have to make it a coordinated and rapid movement if you want to land on your hands (not face).

➡️ attempt on a soft surface
i know i did them on the hard ground, but make sure to do these over a mat just in case.

final tips/cues:
✖️hips up! check the slow-mo for an example. you want to bend your hips a bit as you push up to then forcefully extend them and get your lower body off of the ground.

✖️straighten the hips and shoulders at the top

for me it’s one of my favourite muscle groups to train, probably because i’m stronger with it but definitely one of the best feelings i get from working out 🏋️‍♀️

did a couple of exercises today to really focus on the upper part of my back and boy was i feeling it! i like to make sure my shoulders are pinched back and so i can get a really good squeeze at the top of the movement!
remember to train upper body ladies because a well rounded physique is optimal 😍

✖️ db bent-over two 3x10
✖️ lat pull down 3x10
✖️ trx row 3x10
✖️ db y raises 3x10
✖️ tube seated pull down 3x10

definitely give this a go next time you’re at the gym for a well rounded back workout. i tend to hit upper body 2x/week but you can add this into your routine whenever you can!

Just sitting here...waiting for gyms to open in ontario!
looks like it’s going to be at least another week or two before they open! i support being cautious but this seems excessive based on what’s happening in other provinces that have reopened, the very low number of people getting sick and the very low number of new cases in the province. i am feeling for the gym owners, operators and other business owners who are in jeopardy of losing everything as well those who really need to be in a gym to improve their metabolic health! that’s my take.

🌈running🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️when i say cardio was not my friend, i really mean it🥴 in the past i couldn’t even run 30 seconds without getting a stitch & giving up🤢 but i’m so proud of how far i’ve come - i completed couch to 5k & i can now run 5k without stopping...i’m as shocked as you are don’t worry🤯🤯
🌈confidence 🙋🏼‍♀️ spending so much time in my own little bubble has really helped me grow as a person & learn to love myself for me🦋 i’ve had some tough times this past year so spending some time alone has done me wanders and really helped me flourish as an individual and develop my confidence, which i didn’t think was possible💫
