An easy way to use the 24 hour fasting protocol is to divide the week up with 4 days of eating with 3 non-consecutive days of fasting.

i’ve found this to be the most effective strategy to using the 24 hour fasts when i need to take things to another level while keeping consistency.

here’s a weekly breakdown of the 4:3 fasting week:

monday: fast

tuesday: eat

wednesday: fast

thursday: eat

friday: fast

saturday: eat

sunday: eat (i like to have a cheat day on sundays)

Target the sides of your abs🙌🏻
save this workout if your looking to hit your obliques 🔥
•side twists - 10x3 each side
•plank dips - 20x3 (so 10 each side)
•side plank dips - 10x3 each side
•cable machine or resistance band pull through - 10-15x3 per side dependant on weight/resistance used - (keep your lower body locked throughout the movement with straight arms to make sure the majority of the tension is kept on your abs)

you may have heard of the term "muscle memory" before. this basically suggests that it's relatively easy to regain lost muscle [1]. this is good news since sometimes an injury (or life in general) can get in the way of consistently lifting weights.

muscle memory works because you retain the nuclei you acquire as a result of lifting weights [2]. nuclei are the control centers of your muscle fibers. acquiring new muscle nuclei essentially makes it possible for you to continue growing muscle [3].

so even though you may lose muscle when you stop training, the retained nuclei make it possible for you to regain lost muscle relatively quickly.

it's important to remember though that muscle loss won't occur quickly in the first place. current evidence indicates that muscle loss occurs after 2-3 week training breaks [4, 5]. but if you need to take a long training break for any reason, it's always good to know that because of muscle memory you'll be able to regain lost muscle more quickly.

Very true - it takes alot of commitment and a solid routine to get familiar with. when starting out, you may also feel alot lactic acid pains in the areas you trained, tiredness and stiffness. this is temporary, with consistency over time you will be craving for those pains back.. why you ask? because pains are a sign or growth and progression, sometimes i've got to lift some crazy weights for that pain and keep on progressing. #nopainnogain 💪🏽👍🏼
