Let’s talk about change. change is hard. sometimes we see change as a good thing, sometimes as bad. but in reality, change is simply just a thing and it is our own attitude that creates the narrative surrounding it. sure, sometimes something might just suck. but the beauty of change is that it brings to the surface one thing that is inevitably within each of us, our own ability to change. to adapt. to grow. i spent some time reflecting on these past 10 months and everything that has happened throughout them. i started teaching yoga, i moved for the first time since leaving home, i grew an awesome team of health and mission-minded women, and i (finally) committed to a university. it feels weird to say that person less than a year ago was me, but she was in fact just as much me as i am now. i wonder what life would be like if she had allowed her fears to take over instead of choosing to take life head on. i guess my point is that it’s really important to be open and willing to embrace change even when it’s scary and uncomfortable. ironically, change is probably the most consistent thing we’ll face in our lives. ✨ if you move with the wind, you might just get to fly.

Honestly, my favorite theme to center class around is the first chakra- muladhara. grounding, stability, a strong sense of safety, and tribal identity all correspond to our root energy center. asanas that help us plant roots into our mats also help us have roots off the mats, as long as our self awareness is present. letting my sense of self-stability guide me into the week! .
✨what a pleasure and an honor to share reiki yoga this afternoon @fauveyogaclub. i mean, look at how peaceful and beautiful this space is!💜
this was the first workshop i've offered since moving to los angeles and it was a mix of vulnerability and pure excitement. so grateful for the beings who shared this practice and the way they held collective energy for one another and allowed themselves to soften and practice self-compassion ✨it is a pleasure and a privilege to hold space for individuals to rest, restore and receive, and it fills me to the brim with happiness to witness✨
i am overflowing with gratitude for all of my ithaca and cortland students who embarked on this reiki yoga creation journey with me, you were all there in spirit today 💗
✨we are all beings who possess beautiful gifts, find your passion and have the courage to share it fully and completely with the world✨
stay tuned for future offerings! 🙏🏻
All twisted up: an ashtanga adjustment in marichyasana d from maria during the last day of my yogaworks teacher training bridge program. i’m gonna miss the 6 hours of yoga practice and study every saturday and sunday!
Alright friends, i need recommendations for yoga/somatic certifications and trainings in and around socal. los angeles and santa barbara and everywhere in between. i’m not entirely sure what i’m looking for, maybe another teacher training, maybe something trauma-specific, maybe something anatomy focused...but share with me any people or programs you’ve fallen in love with ❤️😘

It was a truly memorable day during our @communeyoga 300hr training recently - @solar_yogi skipped morning practice, deciding to do only 34 hours of yoga that day, so it was my time to shine. in my vintage “panties in paradise” tee (thanks @vicbailey2 ) i demoed the s**t outta this hollowback as @patrickbeach spat hot fire into my back muscles. i’ve now seen the mountaintop, and it’s gorgeous (or at least pretty enough for an insta post). remember - it ain’t yoga til multiple people are filming you in action 😸now i shall disappear back into the void 🤘🏽#layoga#teachertraining#dancemonkey 🎥 @yoginitaveras
