Raise your hand if you have a hard time distinguishing the difference between a healthy pursuit of excellence and an unhealthy pursuit of perfection 🙋🏻♀️
here are three main ways to tell the difference:
1. when you strive for excellence, you know what your personal best looks like and push for that. when you strive for perfection, you push yourself towards unattainable goals.
2. perfectionism doesn't allow room for failure or feedback. excellence allows room for the growth and learning that can come from setbacks or failure.⠀
3. perfectionism leads to procrastination or unfinished projects. excellence results in great work done in a timely manner.⠀
the next time you find yourself falling into the perfectionist trap, remind yourself that something done really well is better than not done at all because it isn't perfect.
Crushed and burned completely. hearing the noise of how i s**k at interpreting and how i shoulda interpreted that, having low self esteem and the thought of how i am not suited to this job.
will i ever be good enough?
oh well, i tend to think too much...smh
to know your weekpoint, learn from your mistakes and work on it is the key to be an expert. i must keep trying.
