Guess buckling 3 years in a row wasn't to be... my hip was healed, but not healed enough for a buckle. only 40 miles this year 😢 i got 15 miles in averaging 1:20/1:30 for our 5 mile loops and then my hip started acting up. took a break after 25, got taped up, and went back out for 15 more before i decided it wasn't worth it with another 100 mile attempt in 2 weeks... it was a hard pill to swallow with all the stuff surrounding this year's event. that being said, i'm glad i got to do a lap with tito and help him earn his buckle!!! miss you brother!
Don't lust for money. money won't get you ideas. ideas are the result of your hard work and desire to change something in the world. as long as you have an idea, you be sure that even if you don't have the money to implement it, you'll eventually find a way to get it. think for a change, money will come after!
Yesterday's hike was actually a bit of a failure for me 🏔️ not only did i never reach the point i had set my eyes on, because my gps malfunctioned 🖕 ⛔
but when i came back to the hostel i learnt that i was supposed to have checked out 5 hours earlier 🤗 i thought i had booked one more day... so imagine that. you already have 25km in your legs, now you're sitting on the street with your backpack in the late afternoon with no place to stay 👌 but i guess that had to happen sooner or later 🤓
and yes i was p****d (at myself). but in some weird way i also love it. these mistakes make you a better traveller - and man, have i made a lot of mistakes :d
Shame i didn't look this full on show day but lesson learnt, i will deplete longer and carb up harder a few days out next time. i've decided i will compete again but i want to add some size first as i came in 5.5kg under my 80kg class and some of the other guys looked much fuller and more muscular than me in my category. so maybe next year i'll give it another go 🤔
My biggest struggle is my nutrition on the weekend. i find i’m soooo good during the week, but the different routine on the weekend throws me off. i worked 10 hours yesterday, i didn’t have as much veggies or water and it reflected in my tracker this morning.
i’m up 0.4lbs from yesterday. i’m using the scale as a tool, to see how my body reacts to certain foods, water, and timing of food. i ate smaller meals yesterday, and snacked more frequently, i bought the food, rather than making it. next weekend i’m going to bring my food instead.
i’m down 4lbs this week!!! i feel great!!! i got up this morning early to eat breakfast before my run. i have #runclub this morning. we are running 8km.
don’t think about what can happen in a month. don’t think about what can happen in a year. just focus on the 24 hours in front of you and do what you can to get closer to where you want to me. 👊🏻 happy sunday ☀️
