I went to the national greyhound association's fall meet during 8-12 october. one reason was the chance to meet billy bob's seven puppies, three of whom were entered in the stakes races during the meet. it was probably the only time i'd get to meet all of his offspring at michael strickland's farm before they left to start their careers.
Floridians, vote no on 13!!! hello, my name is cet bear bear.
i flunked out of racing school in florida. the people around me saw that i was only really interested in the attention i was getting from my trainer and handlers. when my trainer saw i wasn't going to be a good racer she asked a nice lady in virginia if she would train me as a service dog.
now i live in maine watching over my humans with greyt intent.
A new really really good friend of mine has 3 daughters. one of which is about to have her first baby, one in college and one finishing out her last 2 years of high school. the lessons my beautiful friend have taught me about a relationship between a mom and daughter have been ones that represent who christ is. the joy shown on these girls' faces when they see their mama are what get me every time. the constant facetime calls greeted with smiles even though they just talked 20 minutes prior are priceless. the hugs that take place every morning when they wake up. i watch my friend interact with her girls and i absorb it all. she isn't controlling. she leads them but let's them run and sometimes fall. but she is there to pick them up and tells them they are amazing no matter what. i believe this is what keeps her girls close. my prayer is that these 2 girls in this photo will always want to come back to me. that they come home after falls and fails to allow me to hold them and tell them how amazing they are. thank you, @jenniferswieland, for your friendship and showing me how to cherish my daughters, give smiles even if one of us is in a bad mood☺️ to hug them every morning when they wake up, and to feel that hug every time and to enjoy every moment i get to be around them💕
Spent some time today with my best friend mesa at the wedge in the san rafael swell reflecting on how quickly life can change and how precious each second is with loved ones.
some of you might follow @briannamadia and her husband keith and there two fur babies, dagwood and bucket. if you don't follow them you should. dagwood got hit by a car a couple days ago and is in really bad shape.
me, as well as thousands of followers have been quite sad over this news, we have all grown to know their family intimently through their ig page. though i only worked with keith a few months and spend a little time petting dagwood and bucket, i am reminded of the pain of loosing my dog jackson years ago. knowing how painful it is i grieve with bri and keith over dagwood's accident.
besides donating to dagwood's go fun me page for his medical costs the only other thing i feel i can do is think positive thoughts for dagwood's survival, hang out in places he loved, and spend time with mesa knowing that her life could be shortened at anytime and i need to not only allow her to fully live her life, but spend as much time as i can with her.
to dagwood, fight hard, the desert is waiting for your return!
to everyone else, take your dogs everywhere, love them as they love you, let them run free as much as possible when its safe, and enjoy every second you spend with loved ones.
