I had been feeling very over-scheduled lately, and this weekend my body very clearly told me to slow down. i was sick most of the weekend, and am going to listen to my body and take it easy going into the week, too. our bodies’ abilities to tell us what we need are always just fascinating to me! especially as someone who likes to be busy, it’s so important to remember that some downtime (preferably before it’s forced on me by illness) is important, too. 💜
Who gets excited over a bowl of salad? if you're honest, probably not many of us. but today i had the tastiest salad in a restaurant with healthy f*t - avocado - and scrummy goodness. all 100% clean.
this really made me wonder - why don't i make this much effort to make my food exciting?
if we want to succeed with our goal of healthy eating, and losing weight in the process, we have to try a bit hard to help keep us on track.
here's to falling in love with food again ❤

going for a lot of slow, controlled reps (12-16), as opposed to weight these days 🤰🏽 it’s humbling, but remembering i’m carrying a life— which is way more superhuman than being able to lift a ton of weights🖤

😴nighttime is when the liver clocks in for work. it uses our sleep time to cleanse the body in preparation for the next day. this is the time when everything else is shut down, giving the liver the energy it needs to do its best. the liver has to wait until the digestion process is complete to fully begin it work. this results in a shortened overnight detox time meaning the liver begins to fall behind. if this pattern is repeated, it’s easy to see how the liver begins to get overwhelmed and rely on other b****y functions to help support the body’s detoxification pathways. .
😴another consideration is not sleeping long enough. research has proven the myriad reasons sleep is vital to our health. it is during sleep that the liver does it’s work. if you shorten your sleep cycle to five hours you are most likely shortening the detoxification cycle, which can cause buildup or congestion down the road. don’t worry if you stay up late once in a while, this is more about long them patterns. .

Struggling to get out of bed? 🛌 the weekend not long enough? feeling unrefreshed? life getting you down?
there’s no need to ‘force’ that smile and ‘soldier’ on. generally speaking when clients feel like this, their adrenal glands need some tender loving care! 💖
the adrenal glands sit atop the kidneys and work directly with the thyroid gland. depending on what life throws us, these little dudes have an awful lot of work to do helping us respond to daily life stressors.
modern day society is full of stressors that if we were living amongst nature, in a less hectic manner, we wouldn’t have to endure. so you can imagine if you are pumping out small amounts of adrenaline and cortisol all day long , every day - they become really fatigued.
this is when you find your body saying “no” more often. feeling unrefreshed on waking, having sleep 😴 disturbance and suffering a mid-afternoon slump most days.
naturopaths use supplemental nutrients to support adrenal function & return to health as well as herbal adrenal restoratives which regulate the hormone cortisol.
are you constantly pushing yourself? let me help you regain that lost energy & sense of self.
