Thanks april, you’ve been ace! 🎉 feeling very proud of my little biz right now. my fav month by far. again. april marks a year since i handed in my notice + chucked in my day job (although i had to wait 2 months to actually leave it), and a year since i got married. both of which gave me a confidence i didn’t know i had. and what a year it’s been. i used some of our wedding savings to pay the mortgage and eat while i tried to build my business, but otherwise my business is completely self-made, i didn’t really have any other options to be honest. i’ve worked my a*s off and i’ve done all my press + pr myself thus far and i’m very proud of what i’ve achieved. i’ve had a few meltdowns along the way, and more than a few late nights, but i love making people happy and i’m addicted to it. there is nothing better than seeing someone happy on their wedding day and knowing that you’ve contributed to it.
this month also marked a few turning points for my little biz, and i’ve had loads to celebrate to boot. in april i did, and booked, a record amount of weddings, and for the first time i’ve been able to forecast surpassing the monthly salary i left to live my dream. i’m not there yet, but i can see it. i hired my first member of staff and i launched some new services. i received highly commended at the ukba17 and i got to wear a jenny packham gown to it (a dream in itself!). my business also received some phenomenal press, including a feature in the @swdmagazine. and on a personal level, this month i was very lucky to be involved in some weddings close to my heart, i celebrated a very happy first wedding anniversary in paris, and i became an aunty to a bonnie baby boy! so please raise a bank holiday glass with me to april; here’s a pic of me looking very pleased with myself, which i thought was better than putting up one of me in my jammies doing work on the sofa with a wine! 🍷🍷 laura x 💋💋 #weddingtasker#lifeofaweddingplanner 📸 @amandakarenphotography
