This card, is probably the only reason i got into magic. back in 2002, 2003 i came into a small hodgepodge stack of magic cards. i was 11, or 12 and i remember just staring at this card thinking dam that's beautiful. i was into collecting cards for awhile at that time, baseball, basket ball, pokemon of course, my step dad bought me two packs one day and pulled a charizard. my favorite as it was a fire breathing dragon. then seeing this card i was thinking man this is way cooler, realistic animals instead of cartoonish. (still love the original pokemon) i had no idea to play then and living in a bum f**k town in the middle of missouri. we were lucky to even have pokemon cards. no place close sold magic. so for the longest time i never knew how to play. i would just look at the beautiful images of each card. and loving snakes, spiders and such, river boa is my favorite.
once i was a bit older and the internet had a better system(what my family could afford at the time.) i got into magic. mainly because of all the time i remember staring at river boa wishing i could play this cool game with cool creatures and awesome art. so really if it wasn't for this card i wouldn't have ever tried to pursue this game later and had all the great laughs its brought, and all the new people i'm meeting now. so thank you river boa, steve white, and richard garfield lol. #riverboa#stevewhite#richardgarfield#sorcery_speed#societyofsorcery#magicthegathering#mtg#mtgcommunity#mtgaddicts
