For a straight month i didn't knew anything different than skinnyman. 24/7 weekends and holidays, my mind effort and energy was there. personal issues got directly channeled to fuel this up, oh and the multiple meltdowns and mistakes let's not forget about those. i got in very deep getting involved from the design of the character to the race of bring it to life. skinny, as i like to call him, comes from a very nostalgic, broken but loving place. since the sculpting process i felt that about him, you think of the script and somehow you link it with pieces of your own story. and that is when it starts to come alive.the pictures mostly show the makeup application, (sorry to k**l the movie magic guys, i hope you can see the film so it can give you chills as well). even though went completely bent on overdrive and was super excited and obsesive as i am doing the project , i realized how important is to have a team and listen to your mentors . if you don't have one, find one to look up to. mine @robburmans_lab has given me so many life and work lessons and certainly helped me jump through fire hoops on this one. you experiment trying things and mess up. you learn to not be lazy and take shortcuts that are going to end up bitting you in the butt. to give your 250%. sometimes you get ambitious and the project stops being about money or keeping production happy. it's about personal accomplishment. bleed, cry, burn yourself a little. find out what you are made of. for this application i casted 8 silicone pieces and a urethane foam core for the head piece. #melgel really did it for my edges and #3rd degree helped me a lot to give nice textures. it was a 6 hour process to do this makeup everyday for 4 days by myself and not die in the attempt. certainly helped me learn from my mistakes of the day before. i realized a highlight and shadow #bodypaint with my #iwata , that really made it a lot easier and faster. i used #temptudura for the whole makeup and that really holds!. this experience overall helped me understand how much i love this craft even when it takes you on a rollercoaster. and at the end it is all about the amazing people you have and find in the way.
Do your makeup brushes look like this? our makeup brushes need frequent cleaning for smoother makeup application, hygiene and longer life to the brush. protect your investment.
when your brushes start building up with makeup residue as you see here, a good washing is needed.
take a dollop of shampoo or foaming cleanser into the palm of your hand. get just the bristles wet and in a circular motion work up a lather into the bristles. rinse with tepid water until water runs clear avoiding the handle. lay brushes on counter top with bristles hanging over to allow air to dry. your brushes will look like new again.
