The office of art collector and founder of cbs william s. paley in new york. what we see is a fantastic franz kline to the left, beautiful interior and color palette. if you scan the picture you’ll probably notice a mark rothko as well but i won’t tell you where, not bad having those two giants when you’re working. designed by florence knoll and picture was taken around 1965.
Design by stephen sills, painting by mark rothko 🖤
We have a lengthy to-do list to make this house truly ours. sometimes i get frustrated because i want everything done yesterday 🙊like the laundry. a laundry would be handy ya know?! so to make myself feel better i’m pouring over old photos of when we moved in 4months ago and comparing. here’s a little before and after of the entry and dining.
the first pic you see as you swipe is the wall up on the right where the bench is. the entrance and part of the hallway. it was sponge painted a weird salmon/orange colour and the tiles... well they were just feral.
second pic is the dining room which was a nice burgundy 🤢and that white c**p on the windows was christmas snow spray left on for years. it took foreverrrrr to remove.
so, my life lesson to self: sometimes when you feel overwhelmed at what needs to be done. stop and look at what you’ve already accomplished 🙂
