cole and danielle were renting an amazing cliff may house until they had found out that one very close to them had gone on sale. they were very eager and excited to own a cliff may house and had started planning out what they would do with it in order to make it their very own. the work that they did with the house was beautiful, and they had told me that if i ever had a property come up that was stunning, they would be very interested in looking at it.

later on, a listing agent had told me about a gorgeous mid-century modern home in northglenn’s deza estates, and she asked if i knew anyone that would want to buy it before it went on the market. a few of my clients were interested, but it just didn’t feel right. i thought back to cole and danielle, so i reached out to them and showed them the house. it was love at first sight and we chatted about what they would do with the house and how they could purchase it. i knew that this was another home that they were going to freshen up and bring back to the era it was built in. congratulations again cole and danielle!

Located in a neighborhood that has become better known for its scrapes than its vintage properties, this one stands the test of time (via: @comidmodhomes ) the best part about this house are the rows and rows of glass facing its private backyard, bringing tons of light into the house’s open plan. outside that glass is a large patio, making this great for hosting large gatherings indoors and out. a great stone-clad fireplace is a centerpiece dividing the dining room from the living room.

Another fantastic mid-mod shoot from earlier this summer. that roof overhang on the front of the house is 8'-deep—which means no direct sunlight through that wall of glass during the summer, even though the house faces south!

interesting bit of trivia, even though this house is in many ways an architectural marvel, it was actually designed by an interior designer (yay! that’s my training!) h. albert phibbs, who designed this house in the early ’60s for his family was kind of a big deal in town and was later made a fellow of the american society of interior designers (asid). he sold the house upon relocating to colorado springs, where he spent the rest of his career.
