Loving my post-holiday moments in pdx🌱and getting a little mindful movement in after thanksgiving.
whenever i’m in portland i always step into a class @yogapearl 🧘♀️
it’s one of my favorite practice centers i’ve ever practiced yoga or meditation in👌there’s something in the air, earth, and water here that just grounds you into your body and into the present moment😌
wishing everyone post-thanksgiving nourishment and some mindful movement this weekend🙌
And so it begins.
our first day, and every day, started with a morning meditation in the shala with raghav-ji. we practice noble silence all morning so that the first words out of our mouth is om. 😊
It's a whole lot easier to be happy, present and connected to life and love when you're on vacation and have fewer cares, concerns or responsibilities, then when back home in the rhythm and routine of real life. .
if you're like me, it can sometimes be really hard to be present and intentional when we go through the day in and day out of regular life.
often, we're just trying to get to or through the next thing, or just through the day altogether, and in our plight to get through life, we often miss out on actually living life. . .
so what i've been doing to curb this one and get more out of the only thing we actually have - this moment and whatever it is we're doing in it - is whenever i notice myself thinking about what's next, or what i still need to get done, i use that as a cue to bring all of my attention and intention to the what's happening right now. .
whether it's sitting face to face with an incredible human being in my therapy office having another deep and meaningful conversation, or it's siring leftover soup on the stove for supper, or reading bedtime stories to my babies - instead of getting stuck in my head with thinking about "what's next," i stop, take a moment and ask myself "what's now." #beingpesentftw#5monthbabybump
