Sorry for being so absent lately. life has seemingly been happening at warp speed, and we haven’t had much time to stop and take a breather.
we moved out of our seattle apartment and into a house this month. (yes, huskies do fine in apartments as long as they get the exercise they need! maya and ava have lived in 3 different apartments, 3 houses and 1 townhouse over the past 8 years). ••
the girls love having a yard again, but maya is unfortunately experiencing some pain in one of her hind legs. she and ava have driven cross country 3 times, flown in helicopters, traveled by boat and train...and she will be turning 9 next month. this is the first time that she’s ever had a real issue; the doctor thinks she may have a slight tear in her acl, but that’s not confirmed yet. we are going to keep her comfortable for a couple of weeks and focus on some holistic healing to try and help her feel better. i’m interested to know if anyone else has experienced this with their pups(or other pets?) — did rest and supplements help, or did you have to resort to surgery?
i also got into a car accident yesterday that left my car totaled....but i walked away without a scratch, and the dogs weren’t in the vehicle with me at the time, thank god. all signs seem to be pointing to: slow down, be grateful, put your energy in good places, and take your wellbeing seriously.
we are looking forward to sharing more of our adventures with you all (thank you for being a part of our journey). but in the short term, we are going to take some time to rest, reflect and enjoy each other’s company. please bear with us while we continue to get situated and recuperate. and please be careful and take care of yourselves too! 🙏💙 #adventureandawareness
