I met mr. colm wilkinson 1 year ago when he tour ireland with his fine voice. here's a bit memory to share.
so this colm's signature on a 1970s jesus christ superstar program with him as judas. he was quite surprised when i showed him the booklet, and asked where i found it, i said "ebay!" 😀and i was nearly going to add"it's not that expensive as you think..."(it's true i got it for $5 shipping excluded) 😂but i was too excited to say any more sentenses...then, to my surprise, he started flipping through the pages, he found his photo at the cast bio page and signed below😇(i am sure he also looked at other pictures for a very short while.😉)like as if the jcs musical was just ended and he is signning program at stage door.
it would be lovely to hear him perform jcs songs in concerts nowadays.
there is also that behind-scenes photo of colm as judas about 40 years ago, in costume!!!
gareth marks as herod, robert farrant as jesus, colm wilkinson as judas and celina duncan as mary magdalene
Beautiful! ...one of the great moments of the night #sineadoconnor#youretheone#nationalconcerthalldublin 🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹https://www.independent.ie/entertainment/music/shanes-night-for-all-the-survivors-36512220.html 🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹earlier on, sinead had begun the second half of the show with a beautiful rendition of shane's song you're the one, accompanied on just piano and flugelhorn. sinead was in fine voice but the image that will stay with us, from a night when there were so many images that will stay with us, is of when she first wandered on the stage, without introduction, and the crowd erupted in a sustained roar of delight, and somehow, solidarity. she beamed back at us, her recent troubles looking far behind her. ▫️
