☀️ natural suncreams ☀️ i used to use an amazing suncream that was a tan accelerator, it smelled amazing and gave the best tan, you know the one i mean!😜 but it's so full of toxins and it's important we understand more about it. there are two ways that a sunscreen can protect the skin from sun damage: with a mineral barrier or a chemical one.
mineral sunscreens typically include ingredients like zinc oxide or titanium dioxide, which create a physical barrier to protect the skin from the sun.
chemical sunscreens use one or more chemicals including oxybenzone, avobenzone, octisalate, octocrylene, homosalate and octinoxate. and if you can't eat it, don't put it on your skin! forget about the clever marketing and advice. what goes on is just as important as what goes in. we need to protect our skin but we need to do it safely. what will happen if we allow that to deep into our skin for years on end? so i stopped using them... for years i couldn't find a natural sunscreen that wasn't a very high spf, that smelled nice and that actually gave a nice tan while still protecting. but then i found these: @greenpeopleuk spf 15 with tan accelerator and @naay.co solar, which we found here in spain. my nose always goes red and i tend to get pigmentation on my face in the sun so i've started using a higher factor on my face, which is where the solar comes in. people often ask me which suncreams i use so thought this post might be helpful. oh, and for brax we also use @greenpeopleuk, the kids one 💜
The best fragrance free, organic suncare for my skin (i have tested many) is green people. they do a brilliant scent free, 70% organic range of skin and body products. i'm going on holiday soon i've stocked up on spf 30 which protects from uva +uvb, and aftersun which is perfect for my super sensitive skin. top tip:👉 i mix a drop of organic sweet almond oil with the anti-aging cream to nourish skin. 👉the spf 30 facial suncream is my daily go-to in the sun ☉
I'm a gigantic fan of natural beauty products that actually work... so photographing this brand this morning, in addition to slapping some morning natural and organic spf from @greenpeopleuk was certainly not a chore. its not pore clogging, smells delicious and protects incredibly well. natural sun cream reviews are coming soon on @wellandhappy - has anyone got any other brands they just love? #naturalsuncream#greenpeople#sunscreen#lifestylephotographer
