Finally got around to updating it after almost a year. still more to come since i still haven't added more of the physical work. also thinking of putting up the pre-order for the reprint of my first book. all in preparation for the second.
#powerpunch2 developed by #beamsoftware published by #americansoftworks released in #1992 mark "tough guy" tyler is the undefeated heavyweight champion of the world, with an olympic gold medal and a 33-0 (30 ko) record to his claim. tyler begins to taunt the world that no one can defeat him. somehow the intergalactic boxing federation receives the transmission. the ibf accepts tyler's challenge and now he must face the best boxers the universe has to offer.
this game was supposed to be the sequel to #miketysonspunchout with nintendo in the development role and named mike tyson's intergalactic power punch. due to tysons legal issues nintendo backed out and beam software took over the development and renamed the title to power punch 2 even though it technically isn't a sequel to anything.
yet again thanks to emulators i was able to play this game and let me tell you its horrible. maybe with tyson in the game and nintendo behind it it may of had a chance but this is a total fail. the game is tough, like fighting tyson tough. your opponents have all the advantages and the judges are on their side. you absolutely have to nail the training segments in order to gain the strength you'll need to fight your opponents or you will have no chance.
in my opinion there wasn't any reason to have a sequel to mike tysons punch out or even punch out. if you did need one then little mac could have jumped into a different boxing organization since the main goal was to defeat #ironmike so why do this?! overall i rate the game a 2 out of 10 #nintendo#nes#videogames#games#gamer#gaming#gamerslife#retro#classic#retrogames#classicgames#90s#handsome_rob_7#tcoag#handsome_rob_7_the_nes_years
