Mark nodea is one of the most exciting artists of his generation in warmun today. he paints ngarrgooroon country, the country of his mother – artist nancy nodea, which extends around texas station and south to purnululu. mark's artistic achievements include his design of the fleet-footed bounding kangaroo which was featured on the royal australian mint's limited edition silver kangaroo coin in 2002. the collector coin was the tenth in the series that was released in 1983. in 2013, mark was awarded the city of greater geraldton award for excellence at the 2013 mid-west art prize.
mark's works are bold, strong and deep in character. they are informed by the o**l histories and culture of his gija country and the contemporary environment.
