On this 4th of july holiday my grandma rita’s brother michael and wife dahlia were in from fl to visit and i couldn’t resist asking them, “how did you meet?” they have been married over 50 years and still so obvious in love. the story involved a train and bank in the bronx...not what i would have expected. what struck me was the detail that they still remembered. and, how the story was slightly different from each of their perspectives. the conversation evolved into stories of their wedding day and it was the same small details that they remembered. my mom was their flower girl and remembered getting ready at aunt dahlia’s house. 🌸
stories like this make me realize how special it is to be such a pivotal part in my couple’s wedding day. i will never take it for granted. i even ended my day with a text from karlyn (pictured here) that made my year. ❤️ i wish she was on social media to hear this! love you girl!
Community and prayer were the common themes of the day for karlyn and cody’s wedding day. during each part of the day there was someone praying over karlyn and/or cody. friends, family, church community, everyone! i’ve seen many a wedding day timeline fall behind for one reason or another, lost or forgotten item, hair/makeup took longer than expected, someone was caught in traffic but never because of more prayer than expected. it was beautiful! to these amazing people, prayer and remembering the why behind everything was more important. ☀️ read more on the blog and see more of their best day ever photos! link in profile 👆🏻
