I’m often asked what products are best for keeping your braids fresh..... here’s what i use. (these products work for almost all hair types). 1.the roots leave in conditioner is great for moisturizing the scalp and new growth. it doesn’t cause build-up, it combats itchiness and it smells amazing. it’s not too heavy and it absorbs well leaving your scalp and new growth shiny and healthy.

2. a blend of oils (blue bottle) is also great for nourishing the scalp and new growth. i particularly like a blend of black jamaican castor oil, jojoba oil, coconut oil, tea tree oil and peppermint oil. i recommend heavy oils at night before going to bed. use an applicator bottle to apply oil on the scalp and use your fingers to rub the oil in.

3. to keep your braids/protective style looking fresh, mist your braids with a lighter oil or sheen like the coconut oil mist. spray your braids evenly and use your palms (prayer hands 👏🏾 )and slide your hands down in sections to evenly distribute the product.

4. to control frizziness, fly-always, or peek-a-boo ends, use a setting lotion like lotta body to control the hair. saturate your braids with the setting lotion, tie your hair down with a scarf and let the product absorb under heat (hair dryer) or air-dry. for thicker hair, add holding spray to this step.
retouches/touch ups are a must! get one! especially around the edges! don’t forget to tie your hair every night!
your hair will thank you for it!
