Excelsior geyser, located in the midway geyser basin, is one of my favorite features in yellowstone national park. while in its most active years the geyser’s eruptions reached heights between 100’ and 300’, today it is considered a hot spring. despite the fact it’s no longer an active geyser it’s certainly still an impressive sight!
Kelsey and i started attending our new ward today! it’s been two weeks of cooking experiments, learning the definition of different makeup utensils, finishing and starting @netflix series and setting up our new home! we’re also getting a ton of wedding photos so enjoy 😉 also i had no idea that today was the super-bowl, but i hope that the super sonics win
Oh i can't wait for snow goose hunting in another couple weeks! here's the thing with regular old geese, they're just a public nuisance. snow geese however are a biological nuisance / hazard. there are an estimated 15 million of them. the problem is they nest in huge numbers all in the same spot in the arctic tundra. the masses of them are destroying vital plant life during the extremely short growing season. they're also causing a decrease in the numbers of some rare ducks that only nest in the tundra. the sheer numbers of birds that congregate in one area even causes diseases such as avian cholera. think conservation doesn't work? there were less then 2 million in the 80's, our efforts worked too well. now with the ability to use unplugged shotguns, electronic calls and 25 bird limits (where we are going), it's time to do our part again... #waterfowling#ducks#geese#skypandas#snowbirds#blinging#banded#stoeger#blackcloud#whitecloud#itsinmynature#optoutside#getoutdoors
