I sat in front of @the.hook.nook last night over here in chicago, sobbed, and felt the world around me 😭 this trip to @ourmakerlife has been a building block for me in this roller coaster of a journey that i am so honored to call my early 20’s 📆 being around my “people” and truly feeling like myself was overwhelming in the best of ways 😋 i got to meet so many fans and for those of you who came up to me, i want to thank you. thank you for making me feel loved and important in this world. i had the opportunity to stand in front of the entire crowd (thank you @ourmakerlife for having me on the panel!) and awkwardly v***t my heart out and tell you what yarn punk is to me 🤘🏼your cheers and encouragement baffles me, and even if it is from the internet, i can still feel your belief in me. i am so humbled to have this opportunity to make something of myself, and from the bottom of my heart, i thank you. i will never forget these feelings and i will never take your love for granted 💕thank you for making me feel like a real yarn punk everyone 🖤 i’m coming home with puffy eyes and a full heart ❤️✈️ #oml2018 (picture credit to @dysfnk )
My heart is so full. ❤️ @ourmakerlife was more than i ever hoped it would be and i left feeling so hopeful, so inspired, and so grateful to be a part of this community.
my mom came with me to chicago for #oml2018 and there is nothing better than having your lifelong best friend with you. it is so special to share a love of crafts with my mom and it made this entire experience even better to have her with me.
every bit of this weekend was a dream come true, but there’s a few things i want to make sure i never forget:
1 - meeting online maker friends in real life was the most amazing feeling in the world. it’s like an instant connection where all you can do is a happy dance and squeal as you hug them for the first time. 💗💗💗
2 - the moment when someone tells you that you’ve inspired them. i will never, ever forget that. all i ever want to do is make a positive impact on others and having someone tell you that you did... it hits me right in the feels. 😭 thank you from the bottom of my heart. 💗
3 - the love and kindness of other makers is unlike anything else. we had so many conversations throughout the weekend that were so encouraging. this is a community that seeks to lift others up, and it makes every single one of us better. 💕
i am already so excited for next year! if you have the chance to go, i promise it will be worth it. 💗 and in the meantime, let’s continue making this community a place of positivity, inspiration, and love. 💕
Monday morning again and we start this week with 2 more rows of granny stitches...😊💕💙💕💙 so at the end of row 113 we joined with a new colour but did not made a turning chain. remember it’s uk crochet terminology (ss=slip stitch). i’ve included some close up photos which may help with the beginnings and ends of the rows... 😊💕💙
row 114: 1ss in next space, 3ch (counts as first st), 2tr in same space, continue with 3tr in space between each 3tr group to end, including final space between the last 3tr group and the last single tr st, join with a new colour at end of final st, 3ch, turn (60 x 3tr groups, 180 sts)
. row 115: miss 2 sts, 3tr in space between each 3tr group to end, miss 2 sts, 2tr in final st, 1ch, turn (59 x 3tr groups with 1 tr at start of row and 2 tr at end, 180 sts) .
have a lovely week! 😊💕💙💕🌊🌊🌊☀️☀️☀️ #seasidestashbustingblanket#coastalcrochet#coastalcrochetcal
The colorway “tear drop lake” seems to be a favorite of ya’lls! this shade is dyed with black beans and i’m already planning to dye some more up on lapin and hearth sock, so dont worry, it’ll be back soon. 💧
ever wonder how this color got its name? my granpa made a small lake on his property and he made it tear drop shaped. it even had a tear drop shaped island in the middle. he named it, you guessed it, tear drop lake. i have many fond childhood memories of that lil lake in the valley. 💙🌿 #yarnandthymefibers
I'm starting to transition from my trusty old northface backpack to more adult forms of transporting all of my stuff around. i could get a beautiful professional woman purse, but carrying around a tote bag has way more personality (and makes me feel like i'm carrying around a creative project all day instead of my work things...)
this is my new favorite: my boyf got it for me because he knows me so well. even though i'm living in washington, dc, ny will always be my home, and this bag from @maptote definitely celebrates that!
Who needs complicated, unnecessary packaging when the knit speaks for itself? we pack simply, all recyclable, minimal waste. we’re feeling blessed by all the orders we’re receiving, a little bit of love is bundled up in each order #revelknitwear
There aren’t many better views than this one. been living on a farm in oregon and it’s been hard to keep up with my knitting what with all the work. and my hands have grown calloused so the soft caress of the woolen fiber isn’t what it once was. and yet, my heart is so full and radiant and i do have some time to myself every now and then to knit a few stitches. such as moments like these. and oh how i cherish them.
