We're wrapping up the front nine of meet the course with hole 9. our 9th hole is a par 5 that bends sharply to the right and heads back towards the clubhouse. aptly named “fade”, the hole favors a left to right shot shape from the tee box and again on the approach. the uphill tee shot requires flirtation with a series of bunkers in the right rough recently reshaped and resized by nicklaus design. a left-side fairway bunker was also rebuilt and the large, deep bunker that wrapped around the right half of the green was removed in favor of a small p*t bunker. number 9 often plays downwind so getting there in two is a possibility after a strong tee ball. overall, hole 9 is a fun and unique golf hole with a great opportunity to finish out your front nine with a par or birdie.
pro-tips: if you are going to lay-up, calculate the distance to 120 yards out. anything inside of that and you will risk a tricky downhill/sidehill lie. if you are going to go for the green in two, aim for the lone evergreen at the entrance to the parking lot. shots hit on that line have a great chance of getting a forward kick to the right and onto the putting surface.
keep an eye out for the back nine next season! #owlsnestresort#owlsnest#meetthecourse2018#masters#golf#golfnh#nicklaus
Win: having a children’s #play#cafe all to yourself when you arrive.
fail: even your youngest #child (almost 7) finds it too “babyish” to play in. #homeschooled children do grow up faster!
i kept wishing this cafe had existed when my kids were much younger!
charges are pkr 450 per child for playing as long as they want in any of their 3 creatively designed play areas (with trained minders). this is a great place for moms of children under the age of 7 to unwind and relax (at a fair price). swipe to see: #wholewheat#pancakes and #chickenstrips @theowlsnestplaycafe#owlsnest#karachi#pakistan
