If after indian food there’s a cuisine that i love and enjoy, then that’s chinese (well, our version of desi chinese).
i think this is also because chinese food takes in a lot of spices, just like our indian food. the perfect amalgamation of ginger, garlic and chilli along with a variety of veggies is just so amazing.
here’s my perfect dinner plate from my favourite in lucknow @mainlandchinaindia
veg hakka noodles, lemon grass fried rice, clay p*t veggies and chicken is what makes this a perfect heart warming meal.😋

we were intrigued by the name simply because we associate pickles with indian food & this is an asian restaurant. of course i know that a lot of things are pickled & fermented in asian food but somehow this dish's name threw us. it came highly recommended by our server so we ordered it
think of really well cooked chicken tossed in an oyster-black pepper sauce that was also perfectly tangy. the dish had so much flavour & texture from the garlic, onions & assorted bell peppers
really a good starter to order here. i'd come back here for this dish because even though it looks like a regular chicken chilli kinda dish, it was really different in flavour
Curd rice is a delicious easy south indian rice recipe where cooked rice is mixed with curd and a tempering is done to it. also known as thayir sadam, yogurt rice or daddojanam, curd rice is a fabulous recipe to use leftover rice. it is a full meal in itself and can be had any time of the day. serve it with pickle and papad as they are the best side dish for curd rice.
curd rice, daddojanam, yogurt rice or thayir sadam is another rice dish from south india where cooked rice is mixed with curds and then seasoned with a tadka of urad dal mustard seeds, green chillies and curry leaves.
this is one of the best indian left over rice recipes which you can make in no time if you have curd at home.
is it too raw ?
is it intentionally cooked on the outside ?
or just perfect ?

credit to owner . @hooked_on_bbq who loves a good hanger steak? 🙋🏻
if you learn one thing from watching this video, please take away that a hanger steak is incredibly tender, juicy and delicious 💦
i went hot and fast with this @haltemanfamilymeats prime hanger steak. it finished more on the rare side but this piece of meat was as juicy as it gets.
when your dealing with high quality meat like this it becomes so versatile. i made 2 of these and this one was used for some meal prep.
to be honest, my appetite increases when i either see too many colors in my food or a fancy presentation 🤪😍🙈 now when we add some natural red color to our white rice and garnish it with some yellow pearls and green leaves, the outcome is right in front of you. pretty, huh?
beetroot is in the season and i s**k at eating it as a salad but when paired up with white sauce and rice, it totally recreates a new dish. i was out of greens today else would have sneaked in some greens too. but never mind, we have added some sweet corn to give vibrant look to my meal. do you like it?
i have shared the recipe below, do try it and lemme know how it was.
also, which shot do you think is better - 1,2 or 3?
for white sauce
1/2 cup cheese, grated
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp plain flour
1¼ cup milk
salt & black pepper to taste
1 cup beetroot, grated
1¼ cup rice, cooked
1/4 cup corn, boiled
1 tbsp oil
1 tbsp garlic, chopped
salt to taste
1 tsp dried rosemary
2 tsp red chilli flakes
for white sauce
1. heat butter in pan, add plain flour, mix well and cook on medium flame for 30 sec.
2. add the milk, mix well and cook on medium flame for 2 minutes, stirring continuously with whisk.
3. add the cheese, salt and pepper, mix well and cook well on medium flame for 1 minute while stirring occasionally.
final steps :
1. heat oil in pan, add the garlic to it, sauté it for few seconds on medium flame.
2. add the beetroot, mix well and cook on medium flame for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
3. add the cheesy white sauce, chilli flakes, rosemary, mix well and cook on medium flame for 1 minute, stirring occasionally.
4. add the cooked rice, corn and salt, mix well and cook on medium flame for 1-2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
5. garnish with some corn and beetroot shavings. serve immediately.

sabudana khichdi cooked in healthy waggawaggaoil.. sabudana khichdi – there are so many different variation of khichdi recipes that are cooked in india. khichdi is a comfort dish that usually is cooked with rice and lentils. but the word khichdi is not just confined to rice & lentils, there are so many other ingredients that are often used to make different varieties of khichdi.
this is a gujarati style sabudana khichdi. as i mentioned earlier there are different variations of this dishes. i have stick to the old traditional gujarati version.. i have used coarsley pounded peanut.. softened medium sized sago pearls (sabudana/saggubiyyam/saboonari/javarisi) are combined with coarsely powdered roasted peanuts and sugar and constantly tossed in a seasoning of curry leaves, green chillis and cumin on a low heat. potatoes are also added to enhance the flavor. simple hearty food at its best that is flavorful and filling!
Aloo rice tikka:
potato and rice mashed together with a mix of spices, chopped onion, ginger garlic paste, a hint of ketchup, sweet onion sauce, chat masala and lemon.
shallow fried them on a tawa to get a golden and crisp outer coating.
this was actually an accidental invention where i happened to experiment mixing some leftover rice with potatoes and it turned out great 😉
if you are a potato lover like me, i'm sure you will love this dish. club this with some spicy mint chutney or tangy dates chutney for an even better taste.
do comment below and let me know if you are interested in knowing the detailed recipe.
