every product, food, or practice that uses or exploits animals depends on the mass artificial and unnatural production of living animals through artificial insemination. this is never consensual, is always carried out by force, and is very often incredibly painful. both males and females alike are shackled and shocked, prodded and probed, and they are absolutely, unquestionably sexually violated. ⚫
this is rape, by its inherent moral definition. to argue on behalf of the currently accepted literal definition is to argue that its ethical implication has no importance. in the past, the word itself did not include humans whose suffering could be hidden and profited from. it wasn't r**e if the victim was considered property. a slave, a wife, a daughter- these belonged to a man by the currently accepted definition of ownership and the property status of living individuals whose value was deemed lesser than those who "owned" them. the property status changed, as did the accepted definitions of words which excluded victims from protection based upon their previous status as property. words whose true moral implications always have (and always will) apply to everyone who is living and sentient. ⚫
we can choose to continue our moral and financial support of industries who produce infants en masse to live in pens stained with the blood of their families, industries who throw billions of babies into the world to suffer and die needlessly- or we can go vegan. we can live with compassion, and raise awareness so that others may stop and consider the moral implications of their choices, too. it is, after all, the very least we can do. and we owe it to the planet and all life on it to at least make an attempt to try.
