World’s biggest business intelligence firm buys 21k bitcoin for $250m
the world’s largest publicly traded business intelligence company microstrategy (nasdaq: mstr) has formally adopted #bitcoin (btc) as its primary reserve asset.
in a press release issued on aug. 11, microstrategy confirmed it had purchased 21,454 btc for $250 million.
michael j. saylor, ceo of microstrategy, commented in the press release:
“this investment reflects our belief that bitcoin, as the world’s most widely-adopted cryptocurrency, is a dependable store of value and an attractive investment asset with more long-term appreciation potential than holding cash.”
the move marks a watershed moment for institutional uptake of bitcoin, and did not go unnoticed by commentators.
“i suggested 6 months ago, we are now starting to see businesses owning bitcoin as a marketable security on their balance sheet,” well-known commentator preston pysh responded on twitter.
originally announced on july 28, the move has nonetheless had a noticeable impact on microstrategy’s stock price, which has gained 5.7% since. at the same time, the price of bitcoin has gained over 10%.
barry silbert, ceo of crypto investment giant grayscale, also praised the company’s decision.

When we squat, our foot placement provides bilateral stability along the mediolateral axes, resulting in instability in the anteroposterior chains, as we produce the necessary vertical forces required to complete a full rep.
the issue with this is, over time, if we neglect to challenge those mediolateral chains, it can result in muscular imbalance over dominant side overactivation, and also injuries can occur due to lack of stability.
we live in the sagittal plane daily, everything is in front of us, so at least lunge or split squat to challenge the necessary muscles groups to reduce injury risks. an excellent option is cossack lunges.
let’s be honest, it can be hard to find the motivation to smash out a long tiresome session at the moment.
so how can you best utilise your training to get the most out of your efforts?
1. push your intensities
an easy way to do this is to aim for certain rpe’s (rate of perceived exertion)
by pushing your rpe’s to 6 or higher on a scale of 1 to 10 you’ll be able to create an adequate amount of stress to create the need for muscular adaptation to occur.
if you’re not working at an rpe of 6 or higher there wont be enough stress put onto the system to illicit change to occur.
2. focus on larger muscles
there’s very little point in focusing your time and energy into smaller muscles through isolation movements, its simply not necessary.
utilise your efforts and focus your training towards hitting larger muscle groups (ie. chest, quads, hammies, glutes)
it’ll be a much more effective way to train during iso!
