once you open the door to the aegean waters french restaurant, you feel welcomed despite the poorly lit sidewalk. its warm interior lighting and candlelit lamps instantly makes you feel like dinner can be a leisurely affair. the menu is charming on the backdrop of interesting artwork while jazz plays soothingly.
the garlic bread is definitely a strong entre choice & one serve is enough to share between two. warm bread smothered in butter and garlic can never be a bad choice. the seafood crepe mornay entree was more than enough for me for a main - large crunchy prawns & large scallops in a creamy cheese sauce (though the crepe was a smidge denser than what i've enjoyed in the past).
& the fillet mignon was cooked perfectly to order - medium rare - perfectly cooked vegetables, including crumbed potatoes arranged in a pleasant manner on the plate.
then of course there's room for dessert when you're in great company @claire___glass - we couldn't go past the bombe alaska to share. the theatre of this dessert was so fun. the icecream was creamy, the sponge light and jam delicious, and the meringue & torched fruit was scrumptious.
plunger coffee served with petit fours (strawbs dipped in chocolate & dark chocolate with peppermint cream) certainly finished off a truly delightful meal.
we lost track of the time due to the luxury of a three course dinner plus coffee!
