✨✨favorite book in 2017✨✨
inspired by true events, from sand and ash is nothing short of spectacular, beautiful, heart wrenching and soul-gutting. it is an amazing tale that is so much more than just a love story, and is so achingly beautiful that it broke my heart in all the right places. i had just finished reading the queen and the cure (another amazing work by amy harmon) and i was not quite ready to say goodbye to her ability to weave together spellbinding stories in her unique style, so i started searching for other novels of hers that i had not read. i stumbled on from sands and ash and instantly added it to my collection.
I finished this book so fast after it was released. i remember reading the synopsis and felt instantly hooked. it's such a different and interesting take on #ya . this was my second #adamsilvera book. first one i devoured was #historyisallyouleftme 📚. i totally recommend this book if you're looking for a spotlight on friendship in times of hardship. it'll inspire you to go outside and live your life. (and bring a book, don't forget) 🤓
Today’s card: earth mother
two things! 1. do something for yourself that brings you happiness. let your inner sunlight shine by looking after your inner child!! 2. do something for mother earth: the environment, creatures big and small! mother earth provides her best for each and every one of us and the fairies want you to invest time/ energy or money into making the world a better place!! you’ve been wanting to do something worthwhile and these two are the perfect combination!! any action big or small helps; whether that’s picking up some rubbish, volunteering at an animal shelter or watering plants etc. let’s all band together and clean this mess up!! we’ve got this 😎
keep up the good vibes xox
I had distinct reading phases growing up: elementary through the beginning of high school was my historical fiction and mystery phase. early to mid-highschool was my fantasy phase. then late highschool and early college was my classics and adult historical fiction phase. ya contemporary was sprinkled through each of these phases. from late college to now, i read a healthy mix of various genres. 📚
with a total of 40 books, plus a few special editions, the mandie series was one of my favorites in my historical mystery phase. now i'm writing my own historical mystery! 🔎 and that cinnamon/clove candle smells sooo delicious...
qotd: what was the main genre you read when you first got into reading?
