ok, so i get the question of "i've been working out and i eating extremely healthy, here's my diet (basically a super clean diet or oats, bananas, chicken, broccoli, etc...). i don't understand dave, i've done everything correctly. i'm weight training, eating healthy, doing cardio, etc and not losing weight."

i'm sure everyone has been here but then the ultimate question is, are you tracking? if you are not tracking calories and macros, you are driving blind in order to achieve your goals. in order to lose fat, there's no "butts" ha ha get it, that you have to move more than you are consuming. this is the law of thermodynamics, if you are not losing weight, you are more than likely not in a caloric
deficit. on the other hand in order to gain weight, you will have to be in a positive energy balance.

these laws basically do not govern the type of foods that you are consuming hence its more about the quantity of the foods you are eating not quality. contrary to beliefs, healthy eating doesn't get you to lose weight alone. it's the amount of healthy foods that you need to be mindful of.

with that being said, flexible dieting is a great tool but you still should respect not just macro nutrients but also micro nutrients. you should be eating the majority of your foods that are rich in micro nutrients (i.e. fruits, veggies) and then add in a few treats here and there.
