Kids who owned a nintendo entertainment system in 1990 and wanted to get their tips straight from da pros, as this mag used to enjoy proclaiming...this burst of nostalgia is for you! this is the cover of nintendo power volume 10, which offered an in-depth strategy guide for most of the levels in the sunsoft batman game for the nes, still one of the best (though hard as hell) games to star the dark knight, and the one that made him a funky purple sprite who could wall jump and punch enemies until they exploded in a burst of fire, yahhh! the second pic here is a poster (not from the same issue though, i'm forgetting the exact issue it came from but i'm sure someone knows in the comments) that was included in the mag for subscribers. nintendo power's early posters are still some of the coolest things, mostly because they were done as commissions or by in-house artists and feature rare images that you can't really see anywhere else. anyway, i pored over this issue for hours on end as a kid, mostly because i didn't actually own the batman nes game. i got fleeting chances to play it at a friend's house and was just in awe of the whole thing but i didn't know w*f i was doing and kept dying because i was a little kid with pudgy fingers too f*t for those boxy nes controllers. i rediscovered the game as a teenager into retro gaming and what do ya know, this issue was still useful for strategy many years later! share your own memories of this game or nintendo power in the comments! ◢ like my posts? consider supporting me via ko-fi! link in bio. ◣

A throwback to when i played “symphony of the night“ in my car. we need to talk about this, guys. how sony could leave this one out for the playstation classic, that will hit the stores in december, is a mystery to me!? i’m actually thinking about skipping the ps1 classic cause to be honest, a lot of the games for it is not my cup of tea. what do you guys think about the lineup? good? bad? nah? please share your opinions!
Collection wednesday #1: each wednesday i will post something unique in my collection mortal kombat 3 kombat controller by innovation.
the controller came with 3 gameboy sized cartridges that slotted in the back of the controller. each cartridge had macros for 2 fighters. place the cartridge into the back of the controller and it allows you to complete moves without needing to punch in the button combination.
the six fighters who had preloading move sets were: cyrax, sektor, stryker, kabal, kung lao, sheeva & sonya blade. this is one of those items i will never part with.
