same race...one year apart. i don’t normally do these kind of posts, but after my race yesterday i started thinking about my running over the past year. when i ran this race in 2016 i didn’t actually run, i walked it because i was still recovering from an injury. even if i had run it, i doubt i could have finished under 45 minutes...and i would have been taking walking breaks. yesterday i ran it in just under 39 minutes, and i ran the whole thing like it was no big deal. i ran it after being sick for nearly 3 weeks (and coughing the whole way!) and still managed a pr. could i have run it faster? probably, but i had fun and that was more important. am i the fastest one out there? not even close. but that just means i have the opportunity to keep improving! shortly after this race last year, i started heart rate training with @themotherrunner and never turned back! i’m stronger, faster, have more endurance and best of all...i love running. and my new running outfit is clearly an upgrade. .

It’s easy to keep things gf when your plate looks like this 👆🏼👆🏼 a lot of ppl think you’ll still be hungry if you don’t eat white bread or rice. nope, not the case 🙅🏼♀️ as long as you have good fats & protein, you won’t need to snack for hours after. <it also helps when the 🥑 is cut like a flower>
Crazy running the #6inchtrailmarathon this year. inconsistent training, really wasn't feeling like this race would go well but walked away with a 37 minute pb and no injuries 👊
pushed hard for the last 5-10kms when i realised sub 5 was possible.
4:58:06 official time and plenty of laughs along the way
thanks mostly to @tinaruns_for_fun and ben for most of the training i did - alicia for looking after me on the day and to everyone out there for all the smiles along the way 😀 the support at the aid stations and finish line was 👌😍 #crazyultrarunners#run#trail#runningmumsaustralia#runhappy#focusedninjaphotography
