May or may not be enjoying a spontaneous night at the celtics game (thanks to natalie 😘), but had to take a second for a little #transformationtuesday. left --> end of december and the right <-- this morning after an insane leg day. roughly a ten pound difference between the two and i'd say that all the weight is in my quads (fingers crossed). my first off season is starting to come to an end and after workouts like these, i'm getting more and more excited to see all the hard work hiding underneath.
A movement i despise: weighted dips
a movement that always seems to make its way into my tricep workouts (thanks to @sci_unison_fitness ): weighted dips 🙃
i don’t like weighted dips because, for me, they’re hard. but, if you always go through life avoiding the “hard” things, you’ll never progress. just gotta #getitdone 👊🏼💪🏼

Top set of incline bench press today. took 405 for a ride and then dropped to 315, which still felt like 405, but pushed a few reps out to failure. i am trying to keep my strength as high as possible throughout this prep.

in this exciting little concoction we have (modified) huevos rancheros 🤤 .
▪️2 oz organic white corn tortilla chips
▪️2 oz flp ground beef (no bbq)
▪️4 oz egg whites
▪️4 tbsp ht cilantro salsa

This was part of my top set of meadow rows today. it’s been a long time since i’ve done these but i f*****g love them. this is a great row variation to hit the lats a little differently than normal.
today’s back workout:
-close grip pulldown 4x8-12
-reverse grip bent over rows 1x12, 2x10, 1x8
-hammer strength seated 1 arm row 4x8-10
-meadow rows 3x8-10
-seated unilateral cable rows 3x12 focusing on a 1 sec squeeze in lats each rep

beeeen lifting heavy lately and with that comes proper warm up and cool down. so after my heavy deadlifts i finished it off with a little traction work to help decompress the spine, looks very odd but feels amazing i suggest everyone give it a shot! now that my calorie intake is slowly but surely going ⬆️ my energy is as well and with that comes some high volume exercising slow and controlled. taking the good from the bad here, although i was really looking forward to competing this season taking more time off allows me to grow more, having a calorie surplus allows me to exert more energy which in turn makes me life heavier and harder. turning a negative situation and mindset into a positive one and really starting to feel great again. one step at a time😛 . idk why im dabbing in this either
Here’s how we make 200lb dbs. yes, it’s very sketchy, but i don’t give a fuck. don’t worry, i did the 150s for 12 after this slow and controlled for some actual time under tension work. always a great workout with @samurai_ryan. told you i would give it a go @zachariahr_
