vegans are constantly asked to “respect”, “choices” of non-vegans in relation to consumption of animals. should this kind of behavior be "respected" or condoned? if you are a non-vegan you are paying this man's salary. what are you going to do with my “respect” anyway? show it off? first, respect yourself, love yourself. loving oneself is seeing oneself mirrored in all beings. and that’s not possible if one keeps callously killing, starving & destroying nature and its inhabitants.
this video was captured in destin, florida by a passing tourist 2 years ago who felt that what he was seeing was absolutely wrong.
the victim: a pregnant #greathammerheadshark with 34 pups.
the excuse: it was caught in international waters 9 miles from shore.
findings: this is the result of a flawed set of ill implemented fishing laws.
in the same year, another pregnant great hammerhead shark was caught. she was bearing 55 pups.
the excuse: "he (fisherman) was going for the world record." _
findings: a #gamefishing regulation allowing a world record to be awarded based on weight regardless of the state and contents of the fish caught. this list goes on and on. and it won't stop until your voice is heard and laws are properly put in place and implemented.
we cannot and will not tolerate this kind of behaviour from commercial and recreational fishermen. that's why nakawe project invested a lot of resources and manhours in educating children, college students and communities. however, we cannot do this alone. you can help the project by #spreadingawareness ,donating or volunteering.

the r/v martin sheen is sea shepherd's research vessel and only sailing boat, primarily tasked with researching human-caused pollution. built in the same year sea shepherd was founded, she was sold to us in 2014 by ocean alliance.
how long do you think the r/v martin sheen is? (📸 simon ager / sea shepherd)
I've decided not to get the star wars keep cup series cause they are rich enough. i bought a new one for the non-profit sea shepherd instead. they're our guardians of the oceans. on the right is a prize from the live below the line on past challenges. this year, i'm back at it again for that $2 a day meals to save poverty! link is in bio for more info! don't you just love charity?! also, always bring your own takeaway cups for coffee (or tea). do not create more waste! #charity#keepcup#coffeecup#livebelowtheline#seashepherd
