sometimes you have to have to see the full color of people’s lives to see their lives are not just black and white. see people who are living their lives just like you are.
we seek the guidance of what we believe is right. we seek our inner self’s of what/who really matters in this life. sometimes you need to cut off ties with the negative people in your life to get your life back in order. the negativity is only on them not you.
you were born to see the good in everyone, complicating everyone’s lives with the good your heart. seek out making someone’s day, whether you text someone who you think needs it or giving some money to the panhandler. all of us could change the world and make the world a better place.
If it hadn't been for my family's trial of unemployment, i wouldn't have come to realize the blessing it is to be able to afford/enjoy family christmas cards.
i didn't realize until i couldn't afford them how much they meant to me.
it was a silly thing but the more and more other people posted their pictures and holiday greetings, the more and more upset and unhappy i felt about our situation.
i just wanted to document my family and i couldn't.
so i learned to get creative. i learned some ways around the costly, coordinating clothes and the expensive photoshoot.
i figured out how to make it work on very little and now i'm sharing those tricks with you.
i'm sharing how you can get holiday cards for as low as $.10 each! so even if you just get one done so that you'll at least have one for your own family memory keeping, that's all you'll need to spend. (just click the link in the bio). 😊
and if this is a year you don't even want to do holiday cards because it will just remind you of loss or pain. if looking at everyone else's pictures is frustrating and depressing.
i'm so sorry. 💙
It's the last day of the loom connection challenge! we hope you're discovering your child's favorite ways to connect with you. keep sharing your connective moments with the #loomconnection hashtag!⠀ ⠀
our final thread of connection is service. winston churchill once said, "we make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." what better way to bond with your child than through selfless acts of kindness? ⠀
here are just a few ideas on how you can connect through service: ⠀
1. deliver a treat to someone who might need cheering up.⠀
2. leave a note in your mailbox for your mail carrier. ⠀
3. pay for the person's groceries or drive-thru order behind you, or leave an extra tip for someone. ⠀
remember: today is the last day to be entered to win a loom journal by posting with the hashtag #loomconnectionchallenge! set your account to public so we can see and share all the ways you're connecting.
When you see @seanastin you might think of the goonies, rudy, @strangerthingstv or lord of the rings.
of his many powerful speeches and lines, there’s one that immediately comes to mind:
“it's like in the great stories, mr. frodo. the ones that really mattered. full of darkness and danger they were. and sometimes you didn't want to know the end. because how could the end be happy? how could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? but in the end, it’s only a passing thing, this shadow. even darkness must pass. a new day will come. and when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. those were the stories that stayed with you. that meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. but i think, mr. frodo, i do understand. i know now. folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn’t. they kept going, because they were holding on to something. that there is some good in this world, and it's worth fighting for.” samwise gamgee (j.r.r. tolken, lord of the rings: the two towers)
this is how we feel about life! sean obviously believes in the power of story and we are excited to help @anasazifoundation and sean’s non-profit @run3rdalliance share their stories. they are doing amazing things in this world. don’t forget “that there is some good in this world, and it's worth fighting for.” #sharethegood
