Almost four years ago to the day i posted something similar. i went on a diet that cut off sugar and fried stuff. i lost quite a bit of weight but eventually, i put it back on. honestly, it always felt like i was battling the diet. it went against my natural need to want sweet and fried stuff. how can one live without cakes and fried chicken?
exactly 2 months ago, i started on a fast. i am doing both water fasting and intermittent fasting. it all started when i met the wedding butler from st regis about a month before my hokkaido trip. she shared with me on how she did a 7 day water fast. yes. that meant no food for 7 days. just water, coffee and tea without sugar and milk. like most of you, i was shocked. is that even possible? is it healthy? she shared that it was tough but after the fast, she felt super awesome. she lost some weight (naturally) and her complexion is amazing. she is glowing. i was intrigued but didn't think too much about it.
then came the hokkaido trip. it was an amazing trip. i had the best travel buddies and couple in chuang ding fang and poh jing yu and sharon wei we had so much fun shooting and eating. df and jy are both foodies and they recommended some of the best food i have ever had in japan. that and the hokkaido milk, ice cream, corn, curry and snacks. we ate and ate. ha.
coming back to singapore, i first noticed my watch strap not being able to fully clasp. 😲 worse was to come. when i weighed myself, i weighed 98.8kg! i have always told myself to keep it within 100kg. to not cross that threshold. that sparked me into taking action and the first thing that came to mind was the water fast!
i did some research (mostly youtube) and i decided, i will do a 2 day water fast for a start. that somehow kicked off 2 months of fasting and it has been the best thing in my life i have done for myself. today, i weigh 86.5kg. that's about 12kg in 2 months. my pants are so loose i have kept them away and bought new ones. i have dropped from 36 to 34. shirts and tees too have dropped one size from xl to l. i look much better now and more importantly i feel the best i have felt in years. #intermittentfasting#fastingwithkelvin
