Details of a new piece that will be going into my next shop update. i really enjoyed the process of this one; starting with coffee shop drawings and ending with late night chunky wool stitchings. shop update to be announced soon.
Last time i visited faversham in kent, dad and i took a wonder around st mary of charity church. we noticed many gravestones that featured skull and crossbones. we thought these maybe victimes of a plague or maybe even pirates and highwaymen. after a little research i found that it was quite common in the 16th and 17th centuries to use a skull and crossbones death head as a 'memento mori' that death comes to us all no matter what our status is in life, we are all the same. which is something worth keeping in mind, but maybe not in such a creepy way. .
