So i’ve set out on a personal challenge recently and it has been a “challenge” for sure! but, i can say with certainty it has been an amazing release and self-realization thus far. as many of us struggle with our daily routines and finding the passion in our day to day lives i have recently found a new sense of purpose and calm in my daily life. 🙏🏻 i have been working out again which i had taken an 8-month sabbatical 🙄 from and wasn’t feeling my best. as most of us, it’s the getting back into things that seem so impossible. so i slowly created challenges for myself a walk, a hike with family or friends, a light jog here and there till i started to feel that weight of pain and struggle start to wash off.
i started running, my first run was a dreadful 2 miles and i’ve been working my way up each week today was my first 4-mile run and after my cross training day on thursday 😰 i am beat my hair even hurts!
so i made this yummy recovery smoothie to help mobilize me enough to at least walk down the stairs without grabbing my a*s and hamstrings and crying out in pain! it’s embarrassing when old ladies ask me to step aside. lol 🤦🏻♀️
pineapple spinach smoothie 🍍
banana, spinach, pineapple, maca powder, cordyceps mushroom powder, chia seeds, flaxseed oil, date, small piece of fresh ginger, turmeric powered, a pinch of pepper, pea protein powder, cacao nibs (topping), half coconut milk and half coconut water. —
if you are plant-based like me i add my supplements to my smoothies like b-12. —
Peanut butter and bananas are hands down two of my favorite foods. they’re delicious on their own but together they’re amazing!🥜🍌
these healthy muffins have both. i’ve decided to start eating dates and i’m trying different ways to incorporate them into my recipes. the first batch i made without dates but this second batch i made with and oh my they made these muffins so moist and dense and delicious!💯
