this is the cake that you gotta bring with you to a potluck! the exotic asian flavor will surprise everyone's taste buds. i had this cake when i was working in the us. i've been thinking about making it for my family for so long. it is definitely an interesting turnover of the chinese five spice(which has always been using for savory dishes)! i make this cake based on my tasting memory, and i add in some ingredients that i consider will go well with the flavor. and i cut down the sugar as much as possible.
i won't claim a cake to be “healthy” but you can feel less guilty because of the healthy ingredients such as molasses and ginger inside! -
