After a heavy training session (especially squats/deadlifts), im hungry enough to eat a house. this can be somewhat counterproductive on a cut 😁πŸ˜₯. after many binges and the depressive episodes that follow i have found that if i have a cup of green tea it blunts my hunger and reduces my appetite. it also helps knowing that it increases your metabolism, contains antioxidants that boost immunity (aiding in the recovery process) and increases insulin sensitivity. not bad for a bag of leaves in hot water πŸ™ƒπŸ˜Ž #greentea

Pt client and friend ryan came in just over 2 months ago with a back squat goal of 300lbs. •
after assessing imbalances, tweeking form, giving him new accessory work and a few other coaching aspects, we have taken him from his previous 225lbs pr to 285lbs within the 10 weeks!

Energy system training doesn’t always have to resort to cardio machines.
try high rep or timed kb swings and for active rest plank kb pull-throughs to tax your core.
kb swings are great for us old dudes to keep those hips active and responsive. as for any type of plank work is so beneficial to keep your entire core strong as stability weakness increases as we get older.

I knew that winning the worlds championship at blue belt would have been pretty impossible.
if it would have happened after only training for a year and few months as an amateur then it could have only meant that bjj is an easy sport.
bjj is not an easy sport, and i very much respect that, it’s complex and difficult in many different ways. it takes understanding and mastering, mind and body both fully involved.
this is why i am always excited about how much i have learned so far already and therefore how much i have yet got to learn knowing i am only at the tip of the iceberg.
this is only the beginning and there is so much more to come, and i can only look forward to improve and achieve more goals.

it’s taking me a while to understand where my mind stays after such an experience, and i couldn’t be happier to have come back to the bunch of savages i train with.
always pushing and supporting each other to give our best.
today’s s&c was a bit like a slap in the face, like one of the good ones, that brought me back to reality!
now as always, back to training and competing.

345x4x6 beltless on squat and 215x4x10 on bench. squats felt like poop because i’ve been exhausted and stressed out and i kept screwing up my walkout except for this set which wasted a lot of energy. on the bright side, my bench technique felt really good and 215 was flying.
