Foster care & adoption has a big place in my heart.
when i started the shop, i was not yet a mama but was volunteering at the local nicu simply snuggling tiny babies. (seriously...dream job! ❤️💥)
a lot of these babies were facing serious health issues, and some were awaiting forever homes, or temporary homes.
i needed to help, so we took a percentage of our profits and split it between the nicu to directly help these babies, as well as the local orphan relief, where a lot of those babies would end up. i always told myself “one of these days we’ll adopt one of these precious babies!”
while i don’t feel god has specifically called our family into that ministry during this season of life, i know that right now, we are called to be the hands & feet and give when we are able.
this shop has blessed us so much throughout the years (not just financially, but relationally and it has grown us spiritually!) and we love to pour out what comes in.
last weekend i had the privilege of meeting a sweet mama in our community who is getting ready to bring home twin babies. she only found out last month and this adoption story is a god story and there is no other explanation!
after a journey of heartbreaking losses, lord willing, their twins will be home with them in december!!!!
to support this growing family, we will be donating 10% of our sales this month to bring their babies home. if you’ve already purchased from us this month, thank you for supporting a wonderful, growing family!
#nationaladoptionweek - and as a young adult faced with rejection times again and again from friends, family, acquaintances and strangers alike; i always felt like a stranger in new environments no matter how much i tried to find my feet, to try to belong, to try to know why i was where i was, to seek acceptance and to try to know who i was in the midst of the crowd.
this experience led praying to god to bless me and give me the grace to adopt children outside of my immediate or extended family so that they can experience love, security and acceptance of a bigger family network they so need.
#adoptedbygod - it would have been nice to have my siblings around to do life with and this was one thing that was paramount in my mind.
i remember praying to god to give me twins as my birthed children so that the children will have each other to do life with and nobody would have to spend their lives alone. .
