Plastic bags are one among many examples of single-use plastics. not only are disposable plastics hard to recycle, they are damaging in the long-run for our health and the environment. the recycling rate of plastic items ranges from 10% to 13% globally. since 50% of around 300 million tons of plastics the world produces annually are disposable plastics, imagine the scale of their impact!
on all levels, from individual to the government, efforts can and have been made to solve the problem. sustainability is personal and scaled. even though the word can feel big and distant at times, its importance and impacts are ever more relevant to all of us.
maybe you already have ideas of how this particular sustainability issue and perhaps other problems can be solved via a startup. at the same time you’re looking for a group of people with the same concerns and drive? mentors to guide you how to make your ideas a reality and long-lasting? you should definitely consider joining the first startup weekend kl sustainability on the 5-7th october 2018. hope to see you there.
