'the cycle of breathing in to bring life to myself and then breathing out to enhance life around me should be part of my natural rhythm. no one function is more important than the other. in order to stay alive we breathe in and then we breathe out. we invest in ourselves and we invest in others in equal measure'. .
this week i introduce the theme of my blog 'to live and breathe' and i share some of my story about guilt, self-care and how thursday nights transformed my life. .
What do you do for yourself? what builds you back up again?
in life, we are constantly pouring out ourselves into others, into our work, into our family/friends, into our children or significant others. but, who’s pouring into you?
is there an activity that you find to give you back some energy or to make you feel rested and whole again? it could be as simple as a weekly bubble bath, or a sunday morning church service just soaking in the word.
“you time” doesn’t require you to take off an entire day of life, although if you can, you really should! it simply requires intentionality on your part to set aside a small amount of time each day, each week or each month to restore yourself back to your full self again.
you may not think it’s worth it but trust me when i say, it is! life just keeps getting busier, work keeps piling up, family continues to require more from you and before you know it, you’ve reached your breaking point and you don’t know how to put one foot in front of the other!
when you take this time for yourself, ideas become clearer, game plans begin to form, you can hear his still small voice louder than before and before you know it, you’re making gigantic moves towards your visions and goals without any hesitations at all!
if you don’t do it for yourself, do it for the one who created you. on the 7th day he rested. so what is good for him is beyond good for me!
I was sick today so my food was this chicken noodle soup that i made, some crackers and a plum earlier in the day. normally when i am sick i eat everything in site and that makes me feel better. but today i stopped and thought about what my body needed to help me feel better and i ate it. #sick#chickennoodlesoup#healthydoesnthavetobeboring#takingtimeforme
