Want a fun, easy and cheap class management tool: @crayola emoji markers!😍 i grabbed them at target (for under $5) because i thought they'd be fun to stamp my students with. yes, you read that right, stamp my students with. it's almost spring break, don't judge me! 🙈😂 i knew my students would like them but they are obsessed! 😁 their focus and effort improved immediately, just to earn a little emoji stamp on their hand! 🤷♀️ it was so fun to see & a great reminder for me that sometimes even the smallest things can get students excited and motivated! 😉
We’re back! 🍎 📚 ✏️😎
i started class with three prompts:
1. share one thing you missed about school.
2. is there anything you want to share about your spring break?
3. which book should we read next?
i used these prompts to collect information on my kids. their responses helped me see how they’re feeling, and it gave me discussion topics to have with them all this week during lunch and recess.
also, i totally knew which book would win the votes. 😜 this was just a fun way to introduce our new classroom read aloud.

Journalist rebecca clarren wrote, "many tribal leaders and education experts say these dismal statistics reflect, at worst, overt discrimination—and, at best, the alienation that native students feel in a school system that has few native teachers overall as well as limited lessons on native american history and culture.” it is imperative that as we develop curicculum and programs, community and culture is at the center of the design. #teachstem#keepculture | more info on nativeyouthmagazine.com
