Judy with some of her extended family (circa. 1930s)
one of my proclivities which i did on my original account was judy's family history research. i was excited when i stumbled upon a website while looking for more childhood photos.
marable-family.net opened a lot of doors for me in my research lately. i've been needing to repost my research again but this helped to clarify some links that had been missing in a part of judy's genealogy. keep in mind my research was extensive on her paternal side - sadly her maternal side has not been studied as much. ● judy's paternal great-greatmother, mary ann marable baugh (b. 1812) was the daughter of benjamin marable and the granddaughter of rev. henry hartwell marable (b. 1750- d. 1833). all of the southern marables seem to stem from one common ancestor, george marable (an immigrant from canterbury, saint alphege, kent, england), who traveled to virginia in or before 1652 and made his home in what is now jamestown. however, there were marable's in the massachusetts colony earlier than this but many were subjected to relentless pressure to change their surname so they became 'marble'. george marable married his wife, agnes marjorum, possibly in 1652 but certainly before 1675. sadly she died just after 1680 and george remarried shortly thereafter in 1685.
george and his wife agnes had two sons: george marable jr. and william marable. •
